Help! Mother flippin' P+T crap wheels!!

Have a phill & teds sport and the tyres kept going flat. So I pumped them up and up and up but the air would never stay in. Ordered a new inner tube, and it's still doing it arrrgghhh my latest DD is now 10 mths (DS 2) and I've hardly used it due to the dodgy wheel!

So... Does anyone know what I do to fix it

Or better still

If there is anywhere you can take buggys for repair.

Bit of a pathetic post there - especially for a Friday night!

Thanks if you've not died of boredom!

New thorn proof inner tubes and thicker chunky outer tyres will solve this problem. Personally I've not tried the slime solution, I read it didn't work at the lower tyre pressures used on prams (typically 25 psi).

Read all the different tyre info, look at the tyres on your pram and see what measurements are on those. If in doubt telephone www.pushchairs.co.uk for advice they are very helpful.

Thanks brass - going to try the slime DS will love going to Halfords and playing fix the tyre anyway but if it doesn't work will be giving them a ring Smile

Good luck! Phil and teds do make me cross with their crappy tyre cost cutting trick. As if mums haven't got enough on their plates without having to deal with constant punctures.
The Phil and teds I owned was the only buggy I had this problem with. It wasn't a one off incident. It was a new puncture every few days until I spent £30 on new inner tubes and outer tyres. When I took the old ones off it was obviously the poor very very thin quality of tyres supplied at fault. With the new tyres fitted I never ever had another puncture!

Phill?.....Ted?....are you listening .... Leave it aaaahhhtt with the crap tyres!

I've never had any issue with the P&Ts wheels (and its had heavy use with 2/3 children in it every day for about 2 years), but then I did put tyre slime in them when I first got them. :)

planetpotty · 28/01/2012 18:04

Cracked it!!!!!

I think ..... Whilst in for the tyre slime the guy in halfords took the wheel off me and showed me exactly what was wrong (big ol' thorn in the wheel) he said we get loads of these in.

Anyway £14 half for the slime and a new inner tube (which they had there and then)
Going to slime the other wheels later Grin

Thanks very much for the slime idea as that's what led me to halfords bike people GrinGrinGrin
