Hi All

I am in the process of looking for a pram/pushchair - i have 4 months before baby is born but as this is such a big purchase i want to get it ordered and out of the way. We like the Icandy Peach but they are so expensive i am not sure i can warrant paying that much but we saw yesterday the Silvercross Linear Freeway and quite like this. It is a lot bigger than the Icandy but ticks all the boxes. But, i am looking for people that have one already to give me their opinions. I have heard that it is generally too bulky - does it fit into the boot of a Focus? We cannot test this yet as the car has not arrived but this is my main concern. Also, out and about do people find this too heavy? I will not be using public transport too much so i do not need to factor this in. Any help much appreciated!

We bought one of these very cheapy second hand before I realised that I couldn't actually get it up and down our steps on my own (we live on the first floor) so we sold it (again very cheaply). If I were you, I'd look at getting one secondhand, for some reason, I guess maybe because they're not very trendy, they go for ridiculously little money. THe lady we sold it to actually collected it with a Focus Grin. It did fit, but there didn't look masses of room tbh. It is a good sturdy pushchair and I really liked it, but it is definately big and heavy.

It is big and heavy - much heavier than similar pushchairs.

May I suggest that you have a look at the Uppababy Vista. If I did not have a Peach, then I would have a Vista. The pushchair is top spec, the carrycot is gorgeous and it's packed full of features with lots of accessories and options. The carrycot and car seat adaptors are included, all at much less than the Peach. If it doesn't immediately appeal, then do at least go and have a look.

I think the iCandy Apple costs about the same as Uppa and certainly is packed full of iCandy quality...love it

Don't do it!! I don't think there has ever in the history of the world, been a child over 18 months who fits comfortably in any of this Silver Cross range and that the parent likes pushing. This is the sort of pushchair that gets swapped for a stroller at 6 months.

I would get a second hand Peach or Bugaboo Cameleon or a Vista.

What exactly do you want out of your pushchair?

I was in you position this time last year adn bought the Freeway. DS is now 9 months and I've just bough a Baby Jogger City Mini to use instead.

The freeway is lovely, but it's big and bulky.
It only just fits in the huge boot of our Civic.
It's a pain to have it in 2 parts when out and about.
It has the turning circle of a tank.
All the leavers and buttons are stiff and difficult to get to. (I had to call DH to come rescue us fromt eh shopping centre when I couldn't get the seat off the chassis once).
We can't actually get it in the house, as the hall is small and we need to turn at a right angelt o get into the living room.

I regret buying it because we've just had to spend the same again on a different pushchair.
