Please help me decide on my backup plan.

I have been having ongoing isshoos
With getting my iCandy Strawberry that even the John Lewis lady told me to have a backup plan ready :S

I'm due in feb. I bought a maxi cosi cabriofix car seat but am now torn between my two backup plans.

  1. uppababy vista - all of the glowing reviews on here made this my no. 1 alternative

  2. BabyStyle oyster - heard good things but not so much recently. This is also cheaper but I would need the car seat adapters and carrycot extra.

Can anyone advise or help me compare the two? I would like something easy to fold and easy to push. I am very much a city girl whose
Only rough terrain is when the council does not even out paving slabs in the city centre. I also get the occasional bus.

Thank you! And advice appreciated!

I have an Oyster and I love it. But if I was buying now and had the money, I'd absolutely 100% definitely buy the Vista!

The only things that I find better on the Oyster are the width (the Oyster is 56cm wide and the Vista is 63.5cm wide) and the fact the Vista has a bucket type seat. I personally prefer a seat that reclines completely flat.

Once you add all the extras you'll need with the Oyster it's not far off what the Vista would be.

If you were getting the bus all the time I might steer towards to Oyster, but if not then I think the Vista is great. Everyone raves about it and I'd love to try one out.

You also have the benefit that it's possible to add the rumble seat to the Vista if you have another child, but it would need to be a largish age gap as the rumble seat is very very upright.

No doubt for me, the Vista. It's almost flawless...very very good. The carrycot is beautiful, huge basket, big seat (I hear the Oyster one and harness are small), good attention to detail etc. plus as the PP says you can add on a rumble seat later if necessary. At present they have good resale value too and if you work on the theory that a pushchair is a rental, I bet the Vista has cost you less once either was sold on.

I agree totally about the resale value. It's a sound investment IMO! Smile

Thank you very much! I am thinking of getting the green one from the kiddicare website Grin I love the look of it but would be buying 'blind' as there are no stockists near me Wink

Use the code "morrisons" to get an extra 5% off and go through Quidco to get another 4% cashback (minus £5 initial fee). Smile

You can always buy it. When you receive it, be very careful but open it up and have a play. If you don't like it send it back. But you will like it!

ItsMyLastOne · 17/01/2012 14:28

Wait don't buy it yet there's another code...

ItsMyLastOne · 17/01/2012 14:34

Sorry, I know there was a 12% off code if you 'like' them on facebook but I can't work it out. Maybe you could try it and see what happens.
