if the mothercare extreme pushchair lies flat and if the seat can be rear facing? or do you have to use the car seat in order for it to be rear facing?

The seat can be used from birth but it can't rear face.

If you're looking for a 3 wheeler that can also rear face, have a look at the Maxi Cosi Mura, Koelstra Latinique, i'Coo Platon 3, Jané Slalom R and Kolcraft Contours. If you just want it to rear face until the baby wants to sit up, you can use a carrycot on Baby Joggers, Mountain Buggies, Quinny Speedi and probably quite a few more.
