Another B Dual question, sorry!

Ok, I have my B Dual, and haven't used it much as I haven't needed to. I put DS2 (3 months) in the bottom today and he is hanging out of it so I need to do something...

I was going to get a soft carry cot. But now I'm wondering, and this is were I need advice; I have a hard carry cot on my Vigour 3. I can;t have that on the Dual as DS1 doesn't fit underneath. Also I can't have the top seat parent facing as his feet would dangle onto DS2 below.

So, should I buy adaptors instead of the soft carrycot so I can 1/ put the hard carrycot on top and 2/ beable to have the top seat parent facing (that's why I wanted the B Dual)

Anyone got any experience of the adaptors they can throw my way? Thanks

I don't know what adapters you mean.

Have you put the top seat facing you with the footrest almost vertical? It makes the child sit with their legs crossed or hang them to the side away from the baby.

And have you tried putting the carrycot on with the adapters that push the top seat away from you? That's how it's shown in Britax's photos.

I don't know which adapters you mean either. The adapters that move the top seat away from the handle would mean you can use the carrycot on top. But they come with the B Dual. Unless you bought second hand and that's why you'd have to buy them separately? Are those the ones you mean?

I am confused too. The carrycot will be in the way on top. Equally your eldests feet will dangle down parent facing unless you put the footrest up. The best place for the soft cot is underneath to give your toddler maximum space. The B-dual comes with extension adaptors to push the upper seat forwards when forward facing, but these can't be used when parent facing. I don't know if they can be used with the carrycot at all. But those extension pieces come with a 2011 B-Dual. The other option of course is the car seat patent facing on top and toddler underneath. This works well.

I imagine the adapters would work with the carrycot. I've used them with a carseat on top and I don't think the carrycot has any sloping bits that get in the way like the seat unit does.

So what comes with it? I bought it new. Dh put it together and told me there was nothing else in the box. It's the extension ones for the top that I'm talking about.

If its a 2011 one you should get two black bar like extension pieces to push the seats forwards. They appear at first glance to just be car seat adaptors. They shoud be in the box. If its 2011 then you should also have the hood extender pieces - small black rods, and you don't get a boot cover. I would give Britax a call.

The box has been thrown away now. This may be a silly question but how can I tell if it's a 2011 one? I assume it is but I've got new baby brain and don't know what I'm doing!

There's a sticker on the inside of the chassis that says the production date. My sticker is on the right hand side on the piece that goes from the handlebar down towards the right hand front wheel.

Just checked. It's a 2010. I'm not surprised as it was cheap (£299) but then the receipt says 2011. Question now is; do I call the shop and say I was expecting the adapters to be included as it says 2011 on the receipt????

You can only try? But it sounds like you have had it a while? I believe you could get the adapters separately with the 2010 version if not.

That's a shame. When did you buy it? At a certain point, you'd expect it to be a 2011 unless it was clear otherwise. I bought mine in August for £350 including the carseat and it had only been manufactured in May I think. I knew it would be a 2011 though because of the colour.

I'd definitely contact them, especially if it says 2011 on the receipt. If they don't want to change the whole pushchair maybe ask if they could just get some adapters for you instead of replacing it. There are lots around at that price which are definitely 2011 models. Like aswell said, you can tell by the colours.

Got it mid December. The date of manufacture is 12/2010. But the receipt definitely says B Dual 2011. It's Vanetian red, but I didnt really mind about the colour, it was the good price that made me buy it. I've used it all of about three times. I'll call the shop and query it. Clearly I haven't got what I paid for!

I think Venetian Red wasn't a 2011 colour, but I'm not sure. That's really late to be getting a 2010 B-Dual and the fact that your receipt states that you were sold a 2011 version really isn't right. Hopefully they'll give you a reasonable response.

I called but they're obviously closed so I've emailed them and asked for a suitable resolution to our problem. Let's see what they say Smile
