I am not only looking for a buggy but I also want to sell a buggy or two..

has anyone sold at the nct sales? or is it better to sell on ebay?

has anyone found good bargains on buggies there?

please share your experiences.

Equipment sells well. Prices are low, I would say better than eBay. Our NCT take 33% commission though or 25% if you volunteer. I think it's worth doing if you have a lot to sell and are happy to help out. I've made about £100 on 2 occasions, but I tend to buy other things at the sales too. Have also helped at one sale which was deserted and had to take home most of my stuff.

Now for big ticket items I use Gumtree. You get the best prices (whatever you set) and for no fees. I think some prices at NCT are too low for equipment compared to private sale.

I still use NCT for toys, clothes and books, but I mainly do it to get first picks of the bargains when I volunteer. Its more like a swap shop in this regard.

For buggies I would try;

1- gumtree (at your highest expected price)
2- eBay (if gumtree no interest, set reserve if you need a certain price)
3- NCT (maybe ask your branch what typical prices are - I saw a p&ted for £35!)

NCT are quite strict when it comes to pushchairs as you need full instructions plus i don't think you'd get a lot of money especially with the 25% commission whereas eBays is 10%...I made £140 at my first sale and around £70 at the second one but then i did forget to take a whole bag of toys with me.
