Any opinions on the new John Lewis own brand range?

I've only had a quick play - and they seemed nice - if a bit heavy.

The salesman seemed very keen to steer me onto the travel system, not the buggy.

I'm a longtime fan of John Lewis - so I'm willing it to be good!

DH wants a Bugaboo!

Which particular one? The one currently on offer with the more spindly legs or the other one which is more like a Peach in looks? The John Lewis ones are variants of the MyChild Mezzo and Pinto. I have the latter here at present to review but haven't had a good chance to look as yet. But it seems to have some nice features like the huge shopping basket, large seat and very long handle. But if you search under the MyChild names, you may find reviews.

The Pinto is the Peach lookalike and the Mezzo is the spindly legged one!

At the moment - with the mighty fine discount - I'm wondering about the spindly legged one.

Are they just lookie-likey - or is it a direct re-badging? (I.e. Do MyChild manufacture for JL?)

... I see the pics, but no reviews.

How do you find your Pinto for build quality, steering etc?

I think DH is wary after Hauck-gate with the last DC (unsteerable pram that finally shed it's front wheel while he was on his way to the shop. But it looked pretty with the reversible seat, and was super cheap).

I believe it's re-badging ie different fabrics etc. I am almost certain Kooltrade supply JL and they have MyChild. there's definitely a link somehow.

Like I said, I haven't had time to really play yet but need to do as soon as I get a nice day. First impressions were good. My 3 year old looked comfy in the seat which is always a good test. The build seems fine at first glance. You have probably had a better look than I have so far :)

The MyChilds also rebranded by Kiddicare and Baby Weavers. The MyChild Pinto is also the Kiddicare or Baby Weavers Imax. The MyChild Mezzo is also the Baby Weavers Verso. The Mezzo isn't sold as a Kiddicare rebranded pushchair.

There are reviews here of the Baby Weavers Verso.

Thanks guys.

Is it childish that I'm a bit put off by finding that it's a rebadge of a cheaper pram?

All my home appliances are JL brand. I read they were made in the same factory as AEG (or similar - I forget) - so had high end build quality with fewer features. I've got nothing but praise for my appliances - so I guess I was hoping that the buggies were similarly a quiet collaboration with a big brand.

Not at ll...but I am sure the fabrics and even materials will be different - possibly even better. It's like with the Kiddicare Sidewalk - it was costing more than a City Mini but it's not as high spec.

I was hoping to buy a whole heap of AEG for my kitchen so i might look into the JL stuff now.
