Hi - just wondering if anyone knows whether it's possible to buy crampons/ice grippers for buggy wheels? I've searched but can't seem to find anything :)

Thanks MNers xx

I have seen equivalent of snow chains and mini skis for buggies in Europe!

Where are you going with the buggy? Or Did you just want the 'bling 4x4' look on it Wink

I'm originally from Scandinavia where it gets really snowy and icy in the winter, and people just use normal pushchairs with largeish wheels (Emmaljunga, Brio, Britax, Herqules, Mutsy, Baby Jogger..). But obviously, you couldn't use a buggy like Maclaren's etc. If you only have a small-wheeled buggy, you can get a "proper" pushchair from E-bay for next to nothing.

I would love to get something for my pushchair's wheels. I have an oyster with air tyres so not exactly an impractical stroller but it's also not going to be great on snow!

But those skis look like they'd cause trouble on a hill, unless I wore skis too! Grin

I'm still working on DP to let me have a snow friendly pushchair, or maybe I'll just get one and hide it in the garage! Hmm

What people also often do back in Scandi is use a sledge, especially if going for a walk in deeper snow. A cheap plastic one will do, although special baby ones are made as well. Pad baby/toddler up and they'll be happy to be pulled along. If heading to a shopping centre or such, can also put small buggy aboard. Never ever seen any strange additions to pushchair wheels.

Doh, didn't realise that was what tiggy and dobby linked to, as well.. So, anyway, buy a sledge! Will be fun to go down hills as well..
