Strong and durable replacement baskets? AND universal??

So the baskets are often the first thing to wear on a pushchair, right? Especially the more fabric-ey ones. So does anyone sell a strong replacement basket that fits all pushchairs? I have seen the universal replacement baskets on amazon but they aren't of very strong fabric and they are for pushchairs with the two upright bits going up to the handles (e.g. Maclarens) so that the velcro fixes on to 4 different points, so they wouldn't work on pushchairs like the babystyle oyster or similar.

Anyone seen any good, well thought-out replacement baskets?

I once bought one from Babies r'Us but i'm talking about 15 years ago so no idea if they still sell them.

I would think you are best off phoning the pushchair manufacturer because certainly my pushchair baskets are completely different shapes with straps in different places. The other thought is buggybaskets I don't know the exact URL (they sell lots of Quinny bags and baskets) and they sometimes make to order but they aren't cheap.

Thanks for the ideas. Will try both now.

I've tried looking for replacement parts (this is for a Mutsy) but it would seem that it isn't a brand which makes it easy Grin although I know that other brands are better at this. But it was this that got me thinking about how clever it would be to find a properly universal and tough replacement basket. Maybe I should invent one Wink (yeah right, in about eighteen years when I have some time!)

Mutsy do the huge bag to go on the rear of a single. Does that fit your Mutsy?

Thanks, Tiggy Yes, am very tempted by that as an alternative tbh and then just forget trying to replace the underbasket. I was assuming it would be cheaper to find an underbasket (that basket is fab but a bit ££) but it is oddly hard to find one. Sigh.

Just tried the buggbasket site (great tip off, thank you) but no products are showing...probably because I can't use flash on this. Will try later on dh's computer.

I don't think buggybaskets will have anything in stock - I think you would need to send measurements but I bet you could get a second hand chassis for less!
I think Mutsy have a new UK distributor (I heard something about Mutsy and the UK recently). Why not drop a message on their Facebook page or via their website?

www.babylady.co.uk/
try and email the above, they stock mutsy and i bet she would be able to get spares, they are very good

Thanks again, tiggy. I emailed Mutsy so will wait to hear.

Thanks for the website, pramsgalorere. Will have a look now.
