the uppababy vista rumbleseat - opinions please!!

Hello, does anyone here have a rumbleseat that they have used a lot? I'm going to have a 22 month gap, and my DS is already preferring to get out and walk quite a lot so I don't anticipate needing a 'proper' double. I like the look of the vista with both the piggyback board, and as an emergency long day out extra - the rumble seat. My question is though, is the rumbleseat going to take a slightly larger than average 2yo boy for more than a month or two? Should I go for something more obviously a double, like the bjcm + carrycot just to start with, then go back to my old icandy cherry when he is properly walking everywhere? Any suggestions/advice welcome. cheers

I think for your 2 year old, the Rumble seat would be perfect. Do these photos help? The girl is just over 3 and tall (100cms) and is actually 1kg over the upper weight limit and was absolutely fine and secure (not that it's recommended at all!) If I were in your shoes, with a Vista already and an over 2 year old it would be very high on my shopping list. The Rumble seat is so easy to drop into place and would be easy to hang from the handlebar somehow or probably tuck in the basket if you didn't want it on. I suspect you would find it easier and more handy than the Piggyback to start with. The only time I wouldn't recommend it is if your son naps, but from what you say he seems like an alert child who just needs a seat on occasions? I have to say it's easier to push by miles than the Baby Jogger City Select!

You still cant get the Rumble seat that meets uk safety standards but you can import from US but it takes time

Just out of interest do you know if it's the fabrics which will change (to eet our fire regulations) because I know the Rumble seat as a product had apparently passed UK safety testing.

Im not sure. We were told it was a weight issue. It was suppose to of been out around spring time in the UK then it was put back to August then October and still nothing has seemed to happen. Read something somewhere about it becoming available early next year now.
I am now selling my Uppababy as we need a double. Gutted but its no use to us at the moment

I heard it was next year now too. I had been watching it all year.
My rumbleseat is on Ebay at present. It took me months and months to get my mitts on.

The pram itself is amazing for anyone looking just for a single but im sure the rumble seat will be easier to get hold of in a year or so...hopefully early next year for those needing it next year
