Hi All

first time mum here 22 weeks looking at prams and getting a headache!

I like the britax b dual and also the oyster prams anyone have these recommendations?

i know the britax b dual is mainly for 2 children but i like the design and there is a special offer on at the moment with a free car seat.

i also like mamas and papas sola anyone have one? the only thing that puts me off is that it doesnt look very cosy for a newborn!

the britax has very good reviews on here, but i think it looks a little odd when used as a single, but great if you plan on having another within a year or two as you would not have to buy a double, this is the singe version on offer and i think it comes with free car seat as well

they do have other colours, i just get drawn to the purple Grin

yes, i have just added it to my basket and you get the carseat for free and theres £80 off and you will get boots points as well, looks like a bargain to me, and boots customer service is great

£44.82 worth of points if you join their baby club when you buy the above, but make sure you join the parenting club first

I have a Britax b smart and I am very pleased with it! I bought the matching footmuff to go on mine which is more like a cocoon, DD looks so snug in it! The pram itself I can't fault really! Light, easy to push, easy to adjust seat, massive hood with a extra breezy summer panel. It's great! Only tiny downside is that it takes up alot of boot space in the car but I can live with that! Bought mine from boots and all the extra points will come in handy for my Xmas shopping! Wink

I wouldn't be inclined to use the B-Dual as a single unless width isn't a problem for you. It's an excellent double though, so if you plan on having a second child soon and you can cope with the width then it'd work well. It really is lovely to push and the seat's nice and high.

I'm guessing thr UppaBaby Vista is out of your budget then? It's an amazing pudhchair that looks like the B-Dual/B-Smatt and comes with the cartycot. But it's a lot more compact.

The Oyster is a good all rounder. I'd buy the air wheels for it that cost about £25 and make a huge difference to how light it is to push. Its wheel base is lovely and narrow and it's fairly compact folded.

I can't compare, but I have the oyster and really like it. Light and easy to use. if you do go for this it prob is worth looking on eBay if you want the carrycot as it is not used for very long.

Buying a pram is a nightmare... I found it easiest to go along to a big stockist to allow you to compare and check that you can use!

I am inclined to agree with the others. The B-Dual is a bit big / wide for just a single (not hugely bigger though ompared to some), but if you like the look, have the boot space and muscles, and plan on having any more children then it could be a wise investment. My only niggle is the lack of a footrest for older toddlers because it means they 'hang' from the seat. It won't be an issue for the first 18 months to two years though and can be relieved by putting the footrest either horizontal or higher. Otherwise it's a pretty good all round pushchair.

are you anywhere near kiddicare they are in peterbough, they are great, everything out on display and they have loads of different pushchairs, def worth a visit if within an hour away

Have a look at the Baby Jogger City Mini 4. It's much lighter weight than the B-Dual, a dream to fold, you can put a car seat or choice of carrycots on. Colours are more limited but the City Mini is a cracking pushchair. The Britax B-Agile is the Britax version but IMHO its not as easy and the handle is very low.
The Oyster has loads of colour packs so if you are looking for a specific colour, I bet they have your favourite colour :)
