P&T E3 hood help please!

Hello! Hoping you can help. We've recently bought a well used E3 with doubles kit to use now we have a toddler and a newborn, so it is set up with toddler seat on front and newbie underneath. Toddler is 21mo and quite short for his age (9th centile) so I'm rather surprised to find his head bumps up against the hood. We went on kiddicare YouTube videos and it showed how to extend a bit of tubing above fabric on toddler seat which allegedly made the hood come up higher above the seat but it doesn't seem to have actually made any difference. Is there a secret to this that I've not discovered or is it a design flaw with this buggy? As it is right now we really can't use the hood at all which means we can't use the rain cover which given that we'll mainly be using this over winter is a bit of a PITA. I'm sure people with taller toddlers must have happily used this buggy in this set up so I feel like we must have missed something.

thanks!

it's a design flaw,for that model,
some of the newer versions have fixed the problem,
but im not sure what you can do about it on the e3....

you might have to go without a hood for a bit!

The Dash is similar. Even with the hood up, the raincover comes pretty close to the toddlers face.
