Ds has more headroom in the vista than he had in the cam. Seat back on Vista definately taller than cam. I think Vista seat might be a little narrower but not lots.
Don't forget they get to a point where spine length growth is overtaken by leg growth. Eg there back is not getting tall so fast as their legs.

MonkeyJuice · 01/11/2011 10:09

Ds's head is not level with the seat back yet on the Vista. He fits in Next age 2-3 or gap age 3.

MonkeyJuice · 01/11/2011 10:15

Tiggy is the Vista harness making her sit right to the back of the seat? The crotch strap on the Vista is quite close to the rear of the seat. Does she normally sit with her bum towards the front of the seat in other oushchairs?

pramsgalore · 01/11/2011 10:25

thanks monkeyjuice, does your ds have growing room, he sounds about the same size as dd and can you go off a kerb easy with the front wheels, the cam i can just push off a kerb and the wheels take it well no getting stuck and they don't buckle.

Tiggywunkle · 01/11/2011 10:37

To be fair she does like to slouch if she can, but equally when I am taking photos I do try to get her to sit upright - but then if she doesnt look comfy in the seat eg the B-Dual, Jane Powertwin, Xtreet, then its usually the seat at fault rather than her. But she naturally sat like this in the Vista. I didn't pull her upright or even ave to ask her to sit straight. I think a good footrest makes a difference, and maybe the bolt upright seat starts off a good seating position? She does look incredibly comfortable though - one of the best seats she has sat in.
The slow down in spine rate is obvious between my two. DS is probably not even 2/3rds DDs height but their backs must be very similar in length. It's something I try to explain when people try to tell me their DC is growing out of the Peach at ten months old!

Tiggywunkle · 01/11/2011 10:41

DD is in age 4-5 tops, 3-4 trousers and 5-6 dresses! She is long backed and short legged!
I could get the Vista front first off a kerb even with the Rumble seat on, but not off a proper step. The wheels couldn't take it (but it was heavy!) But I was surprised how easy it was to tip the Vista and Rumble seat up in the air on it's back wheels and bump it down. I expected to have to turn round.

MonkeyJuice · 01/11/2011 10:45

Yes pramsgalore. Lots of growing room for Ds. No problems with pushing off kerbs or manouverability, its the best I've owned in that respect. I do tend to lift the front wheels and go down on the rear wheels on the larger kerbs though that is my pushing style. I've never had a problem with wheels being stuck in any situation. It's a really easy push. Well balanced whatever seat direction or recline. Feels v light. Might not feel quite so springy as the cameleon but still very comfy. My cam was not at all good on gravel or stony or uneven muddy ground. The Vista is absolutely fine in these areas. The front wheels are bigger than cam ones.

MonkeyJuice · 01/11/2011 10:56

Yes the seat on the Vista does naturally encourage good posture, with the footrest, and seat shape. It's quite generous from base of seat back to seat front.
The crotch harness cannot be extended so much with the vista as with babyjogger and also it starts quite far back in the seat. Even if you slackened the waist straps there's no real scope for Ds to push his bum forwards or slump.
The upright seat position is v good when they're feeling alert and active and their view is unhampered by hood or seat sides.

FriggOmortisFRIGG · 01/11/2011 10:58

im sooo excited!!!

my vista is coming tomorrow!!! Grin

MonkeyJuice · 01/11/2011 11:05

Which seat color? I'm excited for you too! I know its a bit wider, larger than the bee but in many respects its soooo much easier and nicer.
It's super easy to switch seat direction. Also on the bee if you extended the backrest it had a tendancy to sink again while you weren't looking. Recline is a joy to behold with the vista.
It folds neatly and free stands by the wall in my hallway. Bee couldn't do that.
Just is more practical and easier to use all functions.
In rf your child will have proper ergonomic leg support (no leg dangling fatigue).

aswellasyou · 01/11/2011 11:25

How exciting! You didn't faff around ordering it did you?! What's going on with your Verve then? Has it been fixed? Or have you sold it already?

Tiggywunkle · 01/11/2011 11:58

I love new pushchairs :o I am glad you decided Frigg. I get to finally take the Air Buggy Mimi out today. But I need ideas re how to clean the stupidly fabric footrest!

MonkeyJuice · 01/11/2011 12:16

Tiggy about those jojo fleeces - I'm wanting to get the all in one for my newly out of nappies boy - am I mad? I'm just not so sure on a two-piece - though I can see it might be more practical - what would you do?....

I was liking the smart all in one look - and the no gap between top and bottoms....also for carrying in a sling on my back - it wouldn't ride up like jacket would....maybe I need both...!!! (tbh - if you looked in his cupboard you'd think I was worried about an ice-age beginning the amount of jackets..but polar fleece is so light and flexible and practical).

or maybe I should get an all in one - then some separate trousers to go with his purple wool disana coat..

Tiggywunkle · 01/11/2011 12:29

We have had both. The two piece would definitely be more practical for a toilet trained child. The trousers are huge though. I can check sizes but I know DD is well behind. The only downside of the jackets is all the toggles and zip. DD has to have all of them done!! I wished I had got the poncho this year! I couldn't find an all in one design for DS that I liked but I wish we had got him one coz I don't like the one he is wearing. I am going to dig out DDs old set for him when I get two mins. I think he will be fine in it, ie no gaps.

pramsgalore · 01/11/2011 12:46

i have just bought a inno tab for dd4 [aged 3] i have to say it looks fab,
www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9364974/Trail/searchtext%3EINNO+TAB.htm
they already have the vtech camera and camcorder which are fab, and the camera is compatable with the innotab as well.

MonkeyJuice · 01/11/2011 13:00

Ah - good point with sizing there - I think I can get away with an overly large all in one - and not have all those toggles - and the worry of which trousers to fit him......even though it might be less practical - if he learns to wee standing up - it'll just be a case of undoing the two front zips to the correct height and a momentarily cold tum while he wees (which should hurry the wee along!). Thanks for that info. x

MonkeyJuice · 01/11/2011 13:01

I too was looking at Innotab! Read the amazon reviews first - kind of put me off - DS would LOVE one, but apparently some of the advertised functions are not yet available, so I'd look into it thoroughly.

MonkeyJuice · 01/11/2011 13:03

Ah, maybe it was the rival brand product to innotab that got the poorer reviews - just seen the reviews on amazon now for innotab and all looks v good! Think I was thinking of something else then that had the less favourable reviews.

pramsgalore · 01/11/2011 13:13

i have read nothing but good reviews apart from the innotab eats batteries, but i will get rechargable and the power supply for indoors, i can see her having hours of fun with this in and out of the house, great for in the pushchair i thought. she can read books [i am hoping it reads the book to her, like the reading systems with the pens], play her music, see pics, play games, they do sound great, i could only get a blue one, but i doubt she will even notice or know theres a pink one Smile

pramsgalore · 01/11/2011 13:37

they play films as well [well when converted, thats dps job though]

Tiggywunkle · 01/11/2011 15:01

What is this? I like the carrycots and adjustable leg rests.

FriggOmortisFRIGG · 01/11/2011 15:02

oh thanks prams! ive been looking for something like this! i nearly bought her a 2nd hand ipod touch, but it wasnt quite what i wanted, and i just couldnt bear to give a 3 year old an ipod!
we have just been shoe shopping, they BOTH needed new shoes,it's the first time that's happened,
i nearly died when he announced the price,
£50 for DD's purple kickers,and £47 for DS's ecco's...
they're both nice boots with velcro straps, just like i wanted, but, stil £97 for two pairs of kids shoes! Shock

Tiggywunkle · 01/11/2011 15:09

I have to wrestle my iPad off DD every morning. She wouldn't settle for anything now :(

aswellasyou · 01/11/2011 16:31

Tiggy, that looks interesting. It would be worth a punt but it's far away.
