Oh Truth how lovely Smile

misdee · 06/11/2011 22:06

thanks honeydragon, will leave off buying one till next summer then as dont want issues. hopefully by the time bubs#6 is here they will have sorted out the wheels.

Honeydragon · 06/11/2011 22:16

If you do decide to buy one they have told me that they are replacing parts even if purchased second hand. As long as you have the chassis number they will provide the new wheels FOC,but they are no advertising the face as they did this apparently with the Cameleons issues when it was released and got scammed by a load of pram repair companies!

Basically, if you are genuine they'll provide the parts.

MonkeyJuice · 06/11/2011 22:24

Truthsweet, from memory the easylife seat and hood fabrics can be imported from www.secondchildhood.co.nz relatively cheaply. The frames go on forever. It's not a bad idea to tighten all visible nuts and a little squirt of wd40 or silicone spray. Esp if its fairly old.
There was a lovely new black single one on ebay today but it was buyer to collect, cash on collection only so I couldn't get it.

TruthSweet · 06/11/2011 22:38

Thanks for the tips MJ. The fabrics are in good condition (no splits or tears) but they are faded a bit places. Nowhere near bad enough to replace luckily but will bear that in mind in case my DDs trash it or we have an accident.

Peachybuzzybee · 06/11/2011 22:58

Lol, I e-mailed the single Easylife seller earlier to ask if they would consider shipping. This is getting incestuous [wunk]

Honeydragon · 06/11/2011 23:09

It's nice though. I love the feed back on other prams I've been considering. I get genuinely excited too when you guys get new pushchairs Grin

I was sooooooooooo jealous of Frigg when she announced she had a Combi in her Mums cupboard.

I came really close to importing an Aprica last year, but went for the Bee instead because of the warranty.

Need a good all terrain with a big basket now like Suzie....but she can have first dibs on any good ebay finds, fairs fair. Wink

Tiggywunkle · 06/11/2011 23:13

[group hug] I love it when people are happy and excited about their new pushchairs :)

Tiggywunkle · 06/11/2011 23:14

Oh and I think this is more me :)

pramsgalore · 06/11/2011 23:16

tiggys back Smile

Honeydragon · 06/11/2011 23:18

Tiggy that's better Grin, you need a [wunk] in your name, its you, suits you better than your name before Tiggy too. Smile

FriggsFlyingFalconFeathers · 06/11/2011 23:21

oh,im so glad you're back to being tiggy, tiggy!Grin

i get very excited too...it feels like ive had loads more pushchairs than ive actually had because you lot have had them!

oh,that combi,i wouldnt be to envious of it if i were you,it had no harness, and was so rickety i could hardly push it,Dsis used it untl it fell to pieces!
i would buy another though...oooh perhaps that would make a good chuck-in-the-car-buggy!

Honeydragon · 06/11/2011 23:27

I liked the one Ds had, it was rickety to look at but not to push. I swapped it for a Chicco though. Tbf the Chicco wound up a great little work horse though.

Tiggywunkle · 06/11/2011 23:47

2 off topic questions - first of all if anyone spots the GLTC banner with the MN code on in the next few minutes please would you shout it out.
Secondly, when chatting about the Elite the lady wondered whether to wait until the next triple points day in November. I can't see it on the Elite thread - can anyone find the date please?

Tiggywunkle · 07/11/2011 00:59

Ok, I have sorted both of the above - kind of!
For what they are worth here are the upright Rumble Seat photos. They are pretty rubbish hence why I didn't put them with the main batch. I just didn't get the right angle on the Rumble Seat photo. But you get the idea. I think the Rumble Seat looks more reclined in the empty photos than what it is. There's barely any recline - its not far off 90 degrees, lets say that!!

pramsgalore · 07/11/2011 09:12

suzie
i have just taken my teutonia out on the school run, i have not used it for ages, i know i have a differant model to the one you are looking at, but they all seem to have the same wheels etc, now dd is heavier and perhaps since i have been pushing the xari and cam, i had it ff and it was such hard work pushing it and trying to keep it straight on a camber i thought the wheels were locked and not on swivel, but no they were on swivel, when i got to the school i changed the seat round to pf and it was so much easier, but still not near as easy to push as the xari or cam, i fear you will hate it, due to the fact you thought the donkey pushed better than the xari, in comparision the teutonia with dd's weight in it so hard work and not a nice push. just thought i would let you know, as i don't want you to buy another pushchair and hate it

MonkeyJuice · 07/11/2011 09:25

Ummm, guess which hypocrite has now switched their micralite superlite classic pre-order to a bargain Jane Slalom Pro....... here...!!! I have surpassed myself! Lets hope it doesn't have wheels like this /---\
I am hoping its narrower and got a smaller footprint than our BJ summit.... as it's intended to replace that - and the bjcm, and the senzz......
Looks like I have some micralite accessories (bought in advance - silly me!) to put on ebay too now.....
Can't believe how excited I am about the Jane slalom pro....so pleased to have got the old one with handbrake as the newer model doesn't have this....and it's my fave colourway.....if nothing else I have long admired the plush plump upholstery on the Jane and hope to heavens the ones with wonky wheels are over loved and over used ones.....!!!

pramsgalore · 07/11/2011 09:33

i like them monkeys i had been looking at the slalom R, as i like pf pushchairs, dp was quite taken with it, they do look lovely and comfy, the only thing i have found with the two jane doubles i have owned and heard others are clicky brakes, but both of mine were bought second hand though and it was a while ago. those all terrain kits are very sort after so you should be ok.

suzie38 · 07/11/2011 09:39

Thanks for that Prams...I've decided to stick with my Brio Go...And a Swedish company can sell me the accessories i need for it...Considering a Bugglesnuggle but am going to need to make a couple of holes in the Go fabric to make it work i think...I was quite taken with the Jane Rider today as someone was asking about them on another forum...Fold quite small for how big they are 62x60x38.

pramsgalore · 07/11/2011 09:49

i am still very undecided as to what i want, i thought i wanted a vista, but i keep looking at others, i like the icandy peach and the strawberry, i like the joolz day but feel its too like the xari, like the jane slalom r but not keen on three wheels, i need a large pram shop Smile i have even been looking at more compact pushchairs Shock. the john lewis pinto is nice but don't need a carseat.

TruthSweet · 07/11/2011 10:30

Took the EasyLife on the school run today. It takes curbs like a pro but if the curb is very high (or to get it through the patio door) you do need to press down hard on the handle to tilt it.

The steering is a bit ocean liner like (large turning circle and feels like you are steering the QE2 after using a BJCMD) but it probably just needs some greasing like MJ suggests.

It goes up the hill really easily and is a very comfortable ride for the DDs. DD2 hasn't actually got that much growing room in the legs though (an 1" before her feet reach the foot rest). Having said that her 4-5 jeans are short on her and she isn't yet 4 until later this month so I guess she is very leggy.

The handle height is about 99cm so lower than I would normally like BUT it does everything else (except parent facing but then I was never going to find a parent facing double for very tall children was I?).

I now have in the house:-

Jazz EaSyS - SN reversible pushchair

Peg Perego Roma - reversible pushchair (circa 1995)

Combi something - tiny fold up pushchair

EasyLife Sport double - circa 2003

BuggyPod - vile thing

Buggy Board

Still like the look of the Senzz, Apricas (except that weird sheep one linked to ages ago!), new Flyers, Citisports....

FriggsFlyingFalconFeathers · 07/11/2011 10:45

i neeeeed a rumble seat...

FriggsFlyingFalconFeathers · 07/11/2011 10:46

prams...if you dont want a vista,and you arent in a rush,id get a strawberry!Grin

aswellasyou · 07/11/2011 10:46

Monkey, my Jane Powertwin didn't have wonky wheels and it had been used for 3.5 years.

Suzie, I was talking about the Ridef on here last werk. It looks really good but the tyres are a bit hard so I don't know how bumpy it'll be. But I like the adjustable suspension, adjustable legrest, adjustable handlebar (in 7 positions!), the super compact fold with the seat attached, and that it's parent facing. I found it in Baby Baby Online for £340, but I don't have any money. Sad

pramsgalore · 07/11/2011 10:51

i have just watched the kiddicare youtube of the jane rider, not what i am looking for, but it is very nice, love the easy fold and the very comfy looking seat unit, frigg i don't know what i want i am all Confused as to what i should get, been on you tude watching lots of reviews of different pushchairs Smile
