And i've found a seller in Germany that sells the proper Brio Go raincover though they have to order it in.

how wide is the donkey then, i did not think it looked that wide in jl, but then pushchairs never do look wide in shops Hmm, are you really going to sell your cam, i thought you liked them, have you sold your mima yet.
i quite fancy a vista as everyone is raving about them and it would come in handy for shopping.

suzie38 · 05/11/2011 00:39

West Bridgford is prime Bugaboo territory but recently i've seen lots of Vistas...I like unusual pushchairs but at the same time, not too unusual...The childrens library is on it's own upstairs so you have to leave them under the stairs...The library was redone recently and now i read this week it's closing again soon for some kind of refurbishment...Will check out full details on Monday so will mean no posh buggy on Monday!!! I'm giving serious thinking to keeping the Go...Will get it out of the box tomorrow and check size out again...It's quite light if you take the seat and wheels off...If the handle didn't have the sticking up shape it'd be ok to get in the car...I've caught buses with people using those Graco Quattros and they are very long aren't they??? Someone is buying the Go carrycot and i'm just awaiting my Paypal payment before i pack it up.

Hmm the vista has a 104 cm handle height, that is tall, i will have to set the bugaboo handle at this height and see if it is too tall for me, i don't mind a tall handle, but i do have my limits, don't fancy walking miles in high heels so i can reach the handle ok Grin

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 00:44

Suzie, you need a Recaro Babyzen! It appears to have a small footprint when opened and is soooo flat when folded. My toddler can easily push it around too when the handle is at its lowest. She loves it for that!

pramsgalore · 05/11/2011 00:44

everyone round here seem to have buggies or oysters, bugaboos are popping up more and more though, but the humble buggy still wins.

suzie38 · 05/11/2011 00:46

The Donkey is only the width of the regular Cameleon in momo mode but the handle makes it look a lot wider though obviously it isn't...I'm sure the average adult wheelchair is wider as obviously the pushchair spaces on the bus are for wheelchairs as well...I'm seriously thinking about selling the Cam as it just doesn't feel comfortable to push, the handle is high and bony compared to the Donkey...It's rectangular whereas most others ie Flyer is round, so feels uncomfortable...If it was a couple of imches lower it'd be fine...Now DD is almost 28lb everything feels wrong compared to this time last year.
I had a Vista April time but i didn't like the handle height or the hard and stiff suspension along with the rock hard wheels but the basket was amazing...Maybe my Cam would be better with air tyres??? I've not listed the Xari on eBay yet as i was hoping for that other one in Oldham to sell first.

The Donkey is supposedly only the same width as the Chameleon - I saw some great photos last night of the two side by side. But its an optical illusion ie the Donkey looks much bigger because the seat is to one side and there is the basket. It would be hard to argue with the typical person on the street that the single Donkey is the same width as the Chameleon.

pramsgalore · 05/11/2011 00:48

i liked the look of the babyzen and the fold, although all the steps would drive me mad and i don't like the zip recline, but its a trendy looking pushchair, love the head light, dp was quite taken with it, i like the origami sorry for spelling but you know what i mean i don't fold my pushchairs but i would that, everytime Grin

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 00:50

Certainly pushchairs change as your children get heavier. This is especially noticeable with doubles. I hear people tell me all the time how fab their pushchair is with their toddler / newborn or newborn twins in it, but then I see them come back later admitting its too heavy or not working. Its very difficult almost impossible to find any double that truly works from newborn to toddlerdom without any compromises. I think its better to see double pushchairs as a rental - buy what is suitable for a newborn combo, and then swap later on.

suzie38 · 05/11/2011 00:52

I looked at that Babyzen one and it looks amazing but i'd better not spend big bucks again as all my recent buys have been expensive and i quickly don't like them!!! Plus i need something i can rely on in the snow, that isn't massive...Maybe the Nuna will work in compacted snow??? I can't see snow getting trapped that much in the wheels...Think i'd better stick to cheap things off Preloved etc etc...I list on there but never look at what's for sale.

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 00:54

The Origami is cool!
The Babyzen looks like a lot to do, but the steps are all really quick and can be done one handed. Hubby took it out tonight just to have the headlight on! It's going to be hard to convince him that its not the pushchair to take for bonfire night tomorrow because I want to take a side by side! It's his play toy and probably the redeeming thing about the house being filled with pushchairs. He keeps telling me that its our offroader...hmm...no its his play pushchair (and its very handy kept flat against a wall and gets used a lot because its so easy to put up and down)...and I am still trying to find my offroader Wink even though yes, the Babyzen is a fab offroader anyway....but its nice to have options lol

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 00:55

The Babyzen should work well in snow TBH. Its one of the few pushchairs that you can drive straight up and over our lintel. You should go and have a play at least :)

suzie38 · 05/11/2011 00:55

Now i like the zip recline on the Nuna, and the new version has 2 zips...DD never liked seats reclining but does now, in her old age...It'd be easy for her to use with her toys once she's tall enough to use with the handle very low down...That pushchair would work well for dwarf parents, wouldn't it??? Not meaning to be politically incorrect.

OP posts:
suzie38 · 05/11/2011 00:59

What's the handle height like on the Babyzen???

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 01:00

I discovered that the Urbo has a very very low handle! It's perfect toddler pushing height. I have some photos of DD behind the Safety 1st Surf too. It's her "job" at her insistence to push her brother whenever he is in it!

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 01:03

Oh and I see the Quicksmart Backpack and Quickfold are being tested here in the UK, so I wonder if there is a fresh batch due here?

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 01:07

I dont have a photo to show you but if you look here at the end of the second row - ie the Babyzen stood up with the handle folded down you will get an idea. The handle basically rotates round so it can be pointing to the floor if you wish or at various points higher up. I point it to the floor for DD to push. So very low.

suzie38 · 05/11/2011 01:38

I don't think i can justify the price of a Babyzen...Anyway tomorrow i'll take the Cameleon out with it's proper wheels to see how it feels, as i've not really used it much that way yet...Hopefully we won't get so much snow this year and i won't need to use the snow wheels much...Just wish the front wheels weren't so small and looked so silly!!! I love that you can get customs for it though...Still waiting on the Hungry Catapillar ones to arrive...And maybe rear air tyres are what i want??? Frog ones are best as they're lighter than the 1st gen ones by 100g as i weighed them...The solid tyres are 100g heavier than the 1st gen air ones.

fellow pushchair nutters, please can u help me win :)

mountainbuggy.com/en/duet-champions-challenge?a=entry&entry=Help%2F75

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 09:23

Lol you can find a better double than a Duet!

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 09:27

I slimed my Chameleon rear tyres and am convinced it affected performance.

misdee · 05/11/2011 09:53

which will fit through my door? i have tried loads of doubles and havent found one yet!

Tiggywunkle · 05/11/2011 10:33

There's lots of tandems :)

misdee · 05/11/2011 10:47

i hate tandems.

have tried a pil; and teds many times, i will have 16months between bubs and ds, so not ideal. i have a funny front step as well to get up and down.

ideally i would have a duo but it wont fit through my door.

i have had this year alone
skate and jump seat
phil and teds x 2
urban detour
out n about nipper
looked at getting a pear, no good
peach doesnt suit me
baby jogger mini wont fit thrugh the door
the uppababy vista looks great with the rumble seat but feel ds will be too young
britax one has a wide footbase, and cant get it up the step
the mb +one looks great but no ideal for two little ones who will hopefully be sleeping

lets just say, you are talking to a seriel pram nut.
