Bugaboo Donkey tell me about yours, also like the look of cheaper City select.

I plan to only use it as a double for a short while, so use as a single is really important. I already have a Bee + and Cameleon so I am a fan of Bugaboo generally and DH wants the Donkey, but it is ££s!

With the duo do you get two seat units or is it just the carrycot and one seat unit? I assume it is a case of putting the fabrics on to switch over from carrycot to seat unit like the Cam?

What are the weights like?

Any reviews/experiences of either appreciated.

You can use 2 seats, 2 carrycots or 1 of each, or of course one seat and the basket...Carrycot fits the same way as Cameleons...It's a dream to push, far better in my opinion than a Cameleon but i only use it in the mono mode with a dinky DD...Though it's just as easy to push laddened up with shopping except for the hilly bit near my house...It feels a lot heavier to lift up and put in the car but then the frame is a lot more chunkier...I love my Donkey...Anything specific, fire away.

How is it better than the Cameleon? This definitely intrigues me :)

I am hoping I will only need one seat and carrycot but for the ££s I hope I get two sets of seat fabrics with duo mode, I hope someone can tell me if I do!

I've no idea about the Donkey but the City Select is awfully heavy as a double.

Purplebuns · 03/10/2011 22:35

I have heard, according to stats the select only weighs a bit more than Donkey but Bugaboos carry their weight well generally. I am not sure on how long the chassis of the select looks and in single mode I think it is 12kg as opposed to Donkey 10kg. Definitely a consideration!

The wide base of Donkey concerns me in double mode.

It's no wider than many doubles...For me i love air tyres and the Donkey has 4...I much prefered my Frog over the Cameleon for this reason...The Donkey literally pushes itself, it's so light...In duo mode you get 1 carrycot and 2 seats...In twin mode you get 2 of both...Mono, it's one seat and one carrycot...Plus you'll get a side basket with all models i'm sure.
