Split Leg Cosy Toes

Apart from Stokke, can anyone think of any brands / where I can buy some split leg cosy toes?
How long are they? Does anyone know how long the Stokke ones are? ie will they fit a 2/3 year old?

i have an obaby one and a stokke one, will get them out and measure the inside leg of them for you, but i think they would both fit a 2/3 year old

I need them for my ABC Adventure Buggy. The footmuff which comes with the Adventure buggy has about 6 inches for the feet once you get past the bumper bar strap!! I am pondering whether a split leg footmuff would work in the toddler seat on top or if that's overkill, and I should just wrap my toddler up warm with fleece trousers etc. But she hates being cold!!

The Maxicosi Mura has a split leg cosy toes - it also wraps around the body and velcro's shut but has zips for arms to be out if you want. My DD1 loves hers and we have now moved it from the mura to the mountain buggy.

can not find the obaby one, will have to look tomorrow for that one, but the stokke one has a 26cm inside leg, but i have just put my dd shoe in to the bottom of one leg and it sits at an angle so reducing the inside leg measurement [it does not really have a foot shape at the end of the footmuff to accomandate shoes], have you got a bugaboo footmuff as these are huge and lovely and warm. and would be so much easier to use than a split leg one.

I will get it out the car in the morning - DH is out in it now - it also unzips at the feet so shoes can poke out the ends but legs stay warm.

the mura one sounds ideal because she will be able to stick her feet out the end.

I never thought of shoes. My DD has huge size 10 feet aged two as well!! Thanks both of you. I will have a look at the Mura one.
How old is your DD1 Pamplemousse?
Prams, I need the split leg because there is a fabric separator piece which attaches to both bumper bars. I daren't leave them off either child with DD being so high up and DS is already becoming an escape artist and I can't see him.

it is great - we used ours as a make do snowsuit last year! The legs zip on the outside so you can sit them in and then zip the legs around shoes/boots etc.

have you considered a snow/ski suit, then when she gets out she would still be warm, my ds had one when we had all the snow he was lovely and toastie.

Well plan A was to simply wrap her up warm in her JoJo Maman Bebe polar fleece trousers, coat, hat etc but we used to wrap her in that lot plus a cosy toes last winter. I was just trying to be a nice mummy given I need to buy something longer for DS anyway. It's quite high and exposed on the top.

No, I hadn't seen those. Thanks. I wonder if DD would get her shoes in though. I will Google that cosy toes in a minute. DH thinks DD should just get cold like everyone else Shock. Maybe her fleece trousers will be enough. I still need one for DS though.

buy a really cosy blanket as well and tuck it in around her, or a large woolie poncho to go over her coat and trousers instead of a blanket, i have one, i call it my blanket lol

You could always do the old trick of buying a cheapy fleece throw (I got one in Asda for £2 last year) and tucking one end under her bottom (position her in the middle), flip the sides up and around/over her legs (depends on how wide it is), then folding the other half up and tucking it around her over the bumper bar with the sides being tucked under her legs. This means they can't kick it off and it adds two layers of fleece warmth.

Far cheaper than a cosy toes and very easy to wash in case of mucky shoes.

yes i know, i nearly bought an abc a few years ago, but i am not tall enough to see over the top. i just think her feet will be a tight fit, but i may be wrong, i am going to get ds to stand in the stokke one tomorrow as he is a size nine. its a difficult one, that mura one might be your best bet, but you need to try it for size, or get one cheap, are you any good at sewing, you could make something up using a nice blanket. a bit like a sleeping bag but with split legs and open foot ends but still long enough to cover her feet, have pic in my head. Smile

I do have a sewing machine here but I also have a pile of clothes sat here needing buttons sewing on! DD takes hours to feed which is why I end up here! If he's not fed carefully he's very sick :( It's easier these days to click Buy it now on EBay. I did make the children gorgeous rainbow blankets before DS was born - they are on some of my BB photos - with ribbons to play with.

Thanks for looking and sharing but it's her legs I am trying to keep warm as well as her top half and there's nowhere to tuck a blanket around her legs when they are dangling. I need to buy one split legged cosy toes for my son anyway so hopefully will get the longest one possible for him too.

Oohh those are wonderful Frigg!
However I have just bought two Clair de Lune Footmuffs. I was only going to get one but was dithering. But when I saw that postage was £5 I decided I may as well get two as I then got free delivery! I can always sell one on if it doesn't fit right. We dont use the ABC a lot so hopefully the footmuffs can just see us through this winter. So decision made. Thanks everyone :)
