BJCM or Nipper??

Have decided it's between these now - DS nearly 3 but still needs buggy, is v large, we have lots of stuff and like doing lots of outdoorsy stuff but not exactly jogging or serious off-roading.

like the fold of the BJCM but prefer air tyres where possible, but want something light - and at the £200 mark tops.

New Nipper looks good but would rather get the old one as cheaper and fixed handle bar - and we have steps to bump up and down.

What would you get and why?

You could look for a second hand Baby Jogger Elite which would both suit a larger child and give you the BJ fold with air tyres? As long as the fabrics are fine the chassis and wheels have a lifetime warranty on them. For off road I certainly wouldn't get the City Mini. The storage on the Nipper is great if you buy the basket (pretty good even if you don't). There's things I don't like about the Nipper eg mesh behind the child's head, and the shallow hood, and things that aren't great for a younger child. But in your situation there's no doubt i would choose the Nipper. You may also be able to spot a second hand Easywalker or TFK Twister or Joggster on EBay?

Also I have just been talking to someone about my Mutsy Urban Rider which was fantastic off road. A lot of fun!

Nipper isn't that great for tall children head room wise.

BJCE would be ideal, gives you both what you like.

Thanks - I think I'll go for a nipper (are you doing anything on it for Bestbuggy??) as seeing as about half the time I'll prob be pushing it empty I'd rather go for a lighter one, and cos I've found it plus raincover and basket for £190 at the moment

Ack - xpost with 5 - he is really tall already - 1m 4 at 2.8 and I reckon on at least another year from him. With the hood pushed back can the head rest back OK or is the canopy low too?

I have photos etc to set live of the double Nipper - some are on an Elite comparison page that someone requested. I haven't had two mins to do any more. My desktop has thousands and thousands of photos to sort, resize, watermark, rename etc. It's my winter project :) I liked the Nipper but our had bent wheels - one badly and the other slightly. Hubby noticed on it's second outing. He loved it and I suspect could be easily persuaded to have another. But I have had three products from Out 'n' About's camp now with issues, and I am loathe to buy anything else now from them unless it's with a no quibble company like Tesco or Boots. But the storage was fantastic and it was so light :)

BTW BB is being moved coz we keep having problems with the current hosts. Bear with us. It's down at present. It should be running really fast in a few days.

DS3 is less than 1m and reclined his head was pushing the mesh bit. If you are not going to be lying down, then it should be ok as hood quite high. My then 5 year old could sit in nipper ok with hood up or hood out.

Thanks - he totally lolls out the back of the triumph and techno when asleep so used to it but he is dropping naps now and found him bolt upright sparko on sofa the other day so doesn't bother him. As long as he has head clearance that's great :)

Lickily the nipper doesn't have bolt upright seat, so a slight relcine would be good.
