BJCM for a newborn

Hi fellow pushchair shoppers!

Apologies if this has been asked before but has anyone any experience of using a BJCM from birth with the add-on pram or bassinet accessory sold by Baby Jogger? I think that the pushchair would really meet my needs later on as I'll be using a lot of public transport and need something easy to fold and manoeuvre, but I would prefer something front-facing and sturdy for the first few months.

The BJCM is probably the best all round pushchair on the market. Highly recommended here. People tend to buy a huge travel system to start with and then switch to something lighter, so to start off with a BJCM would be very sensible. However if you want sturdy I would recommend you buy the four wheel version instead of the three wheel one, especially if you want to add the car seat on. Someone here has the hard carrycot, but that needs the fabric to be removed, but it looks more like a pram like that. The compact carrycot fits on with the fabric in situ. With the compact carrycot you can bring both hoods over the baby which would be really snug in winter.
Don't be bewildered - it's a fab choice! Buy one!

The carrycots btw will parent face, as would a car seat.

I've had a couple of warnings about expensive mistakes so trying to learn from them where I can! would a car seat also function as a pram or do you really need a pram attachment? I have read that it's better to have a fully flat pram but then I'm confused as to why it's okay for the baby to be in a car seat for long journeys but that a pram should be flat. Sorry to pick your brains but it's great to speak to people with experience.

a baby should not be in a carseat for more than a couple of hours due to it puts pressure on their neck and spine and could affect their breathing if left for really long periods.
