Buggy experts - please help as I am clueless!

Ok, buggy experts, can you advise me as to what I should buy in this situation....

DS2 is five months, big for his age and just about to be too big for the car seat part of his knackered mother care travel system. Having examined the pushchair part of the travel system, there are various bits that aren't working properly/have fallen off so we've decided to get a new pushchair. We have a cheapy Maclaren which did DS1 from about 14 months until he stopped using a pushchair at about two. So, assuming DS2 follows a similar pattern we need something to bridge the gap until he can use the Maclaren.

Key points:

  • doesn't need to go on public transport
  • folds easily as in and out of the car a lot
  • we do have a big boot, but would prefer lightish and medium size if possible
  • facing both ways would be good, but not essential
  • would be good if it could do some rough terrain, but we have a specialist running pushchair which we usually use for country walks so not key
  • able to push with one hand
-preferably under £200 second hand

Would be wonderful if someone could simply tell me what I need to buy and save me hours of website trawling! Thank you!

britax vigour 3.Smile

The Vigour would be a good and very cheap option. You could also look at the Micralite Toro (although I'm not sure how easy they are to push one handed), Mountain Buggy Swift, Baby Jogger City Elite or Classic, or even a Bugaboo Frog or gecko.

That's great, thank you both!

I have just spotted this on EBay and thought of you. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Icoo-3-Platon-3-Wheeler-All-Terrain-Pushchair-/260839762143?pt=UK_Baby_BabyTravel_Pushchairs_GL&hash=item3cbb42e8df#ht_500wt_922 It's nearly finished but there may be others. I am not sure about the fixed wheel though.
