How do i know if my BJCM Double is the new model?
Mumswang · 26/08/2011 18:49
I bought one of these a few weeks ago.
I have a strong suspicion it is the older model. This came to light when i tried and failed to find the strap to make it sit more upright
is there a definitive way i can tell if it is teh older model?
if it helps at all it is grey and crimson and came from Boots
aswellasyou · 26/08/2011 19:11
Does it have velcro tabs at the back of the seats near the top to make the seats sit bolt upright? If so, it's 2011. If not, it's ...err... not.
aswellasyou · 26/08/2011 19:11
I obviously didn't read your post properly! It's not the 2011 edition then. Where did you buy it?
aswellasyou · 26/08/2011 19:15
There's a photo of what the tab should look like here at the bottom of the page incase you've missed it.
Mumswang · 26/08/2011 20:00
I bought it from Boots. 3 weeks ago
I feel a bit swizzed
Are the differences between the two significant? Other than the sit upright facility?
I've just got thebox from the attic and it had oct 2010 as the date of manufacture
Definitely feeling a bit put out
aswellasyou · 26/08/2011 20:15
I would do too! I don't know about the differences-I think they aren't that noticeable apart from the velcro tabs. The link I put with the photo tells you what the differences are but I haven't read it.

Crimson and grey is a 2011 colour (but I don't know what the 2010 colours were). The box should have a small silver sticker usually on the side saying 2011 model (or similar). The back of the seats will have boards in - the old version didn't. You should have the Velcro tab at the very top of each seat which is the sit up strap. The hoods are also individual. The 2010 version has both hoods (individual) but attached to one bar. The new version with separate hoods allows a carrycot to fit on. I would phone Boots up if you aren't convinced and grumble. They swapped mine, but mine was new straight out of the box.

Thanks tiggywunkle
No boards
No velcro bits
No sticker (although there us a big yellow one saying 'new bigger basket'
And the hoods are joined
Ive been diddled
And I've used it

sleepevader · 26/08/2011 21:12
Complain and you may get somewhere. Let us know how you get on
Tiggywunkle · 26/08/2011 21:56
The new ones arrives ages ago (spring?) so it's a fair assumption you should have the new version (unless it was mega cheap) by August especially from a big shop with lots of turn over like Boots. Good luck!

Definitely give them a call in the morning. Boots are great for returning things. I called them about something on a buggy I wasn't happy with once, and it had been used a few times and they sent a courier the next day to pick it up. Got a full refund a few days later no problems at all. The guy on the phone was really nice and friendly as well.
