maclaren sticky handlebars

Any ideas have to get rid of sticky handles?....I seem to remember having the same problem with another maclaren years ago - have tried fairly liquid and water but still sticky

I've had this problem with two maclarens. I tried talc but it only worked for a day and then I had to reapply it. I'd be interested in a solution too as I've stopped using mine because I'm fed up with the stickiness.
