Maclaren techno XT new handles?

I need a new handle for my XT, have looked and looked but to no avail, it appears that nievely I thought that as the handles were adjustable it meant they were replaceable! anyone got any suggestions as 1 of mine is knackered and as it's 3 years old it's out of warranty.

Can I ask what is wrong with the handle?

If yo just need a new cover you could probably get a foam one to put over the rubber if not I think it may be knackered.

Maclarens have a lifetime warranty! Also according to trading standards the product should be fit for purpose and durable for the expected life of the product.
Of course this wouldn't apply to accidental damage, just normal use. Try contacting maclaren on their Facebook page or phone them.

If you send it back to maclaren they will replace them. They changed my handles and wheels on my Techno XT, after it was damaged in a fire, for about £50/60. I bought my buggy from mothercare so took it to them and they sent it away to be fixed and I collected it from them.

Only newer maclarens have the lifetime warrenty

will check out if mine has a lifetime warranty, the problem with the handle is the rubber seems to have melted and is coming off on my hands which is so gross I don't want to use it!
thanks Ladies

B*er it's not covered under the lifetime warranty as I failed to register it within 45 days of purchase, will ring maclaren when the DD's are at nursery

i got that melty thing - thought i had weird sweat or something. if all else fails you could try Evans for that tape you can bind handlebars with. they keep that lifetime warranty thing quiet, eh?

Hevster · 11/08/2011 21:16

littleomar ah Evans good plan, will try them if I don't get anywhere with Maclaren, glad I am not alone in the melty handle brigade!

I'm sure not registering within 45 days doesn't cancel your statory rights. I'm sure so long as you have proof of purchase it can be sorted out.

Hevster · 12/08/2011 21:47

MonkeysPunk I have registered it now (nearly 3 years later!) and will call them on Tuesday to enquire, I do have proof as I have the receipt etc

Hope that works out, as I've not registered mine, but do have proof of purchase.

I've bought one recently second hand as our current one doesn't go on planes.
Anyway it had horrible sticky handles. My solution was to buy some bicycle grips (made by www.chargebikes.com). A bit of a struggle to get on (bit of washing up liquid on the handles and insides the grips and a spot of wrestling does it). Now have a pram with nice clean comfortable handles for the grand total of a fiver, oh and I won't struggle to spot it amongst a thousand identical buggies.
