Fake pushchairs

Following on from the fake Bugaboo thread on here, I have become quite suspicious about a number of the high end pushchairs available on eBay.

Its very well know that the vast majority of top branded golf clubs on eBay are fakes. Just one clicks away from a cheap P&T Verve, I found out who the supplier was - golfgear4less, also selling normally pricey clubs.

I think that there may be lots of fakes on eBay. Its so easy to get anything made in China if you know the contacts, and it must be a really lucrative business. Think that Fake Britain programme has got me worried too....

Anyone else have suspicions?

its never even crossed my mind....

Tiggywunkle · 29/07/2011 17:44

Nor me......and if its my cheap Verve for sale...I can assure you 100% that it is genuine bought direct from P&T's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

saoirse86 · 29/07/2011 17:57

I know what you mean and I've thought that before, usually about someone selling a lot of new pushchairs of one make for loads cheaper than normal. I wonder if they're fake or stolen. Having said that I still would be tempted if it was cheap enough... Hmm

deliakate · 29/07/2011 18:40

But they could be dangerous, that is what would put me off a fake pushchair. Esp one with two children in with the added weight.

deliakate, you seem to have a p&t verve on Ebay ending today....or that is some weird co-incidence.....

just saying...Confused

FriggFRIGG · 29/07/2011 21:56

why would you come on here and lie about nearly buying a fake??
is yours a fake?
i wouldnt buy from a seller who's happy to lie and play weird tricks personally...Confused

Honeydragon · 29/07/2011 22:31

If it's a new pram and a fake you report it to eBay ... I post a link on my items so people can see the serial no and codes in part if needs be.

I don't think it is too prolific as a pushchair is one thing people research well and I think you'd notice if features weren't correct.

In regards to bugaboo if you are buying new you are buying for the warranty so a sensible buyer would do a deal with a authorised dealer.

If you want a bugaboo for the quality and aren't fussed about a warranty then buy second hand. There are some great deals at present.

aswellasyou · 29/07/2011 23:00

Really, why would you lie about buying one when it's so easy to find out that you're actually selling one? Hmm And if anyone were to buy a fake pushchair on eBay, they'd just claim their money back.

Honeydragon · 29/07/2011 23:58

Hmmm have noticed the eBay thing, I'd not think p&t would be faked anyway ..... Too hard and couldn't be dine enough to fool you.

Honeydragon · 29/07/2011 23:59

Couldn't be done well enough ... Sorry

deliakate · 30/07/2011 14:16

Eh, what lie?

I am not buying a pushchair, just from research I was doing on eBay I was wondering whether the P&Ts being sold by golf club retailers are fake, as I know a lot of the clubs are.

I am selling my Verve, yes. But I got it from Kiddiecare and have all the documentation etc. which I will provide to the buyer so they can register the warranty. Def not fake!

"Just one clicks away from a cheap P&T Verve, I found out who the supplier was "
thats a quote from your OP,im sorry, but that really sounded like you were 'one click away' from buying a verve...

deliakate · 30/07/2011 15:32

Ah, well no, I meant that the contact details were discoverable one click away, thereby linking the pushchair to the golf clubs. Was a little surprised by the reaction here - I was just musing really and wondering!

I've bought a stroller from America on eBay and the seller sells watches but for some reason he decided to sideline selling a particular brand of pushchairs...Pretty sure it's not a fake.

suzie38 · 30/07/2011 15:38

I think what people were getting at was you're were posting on here to basically highlight the Verve you were selling.

deliakate · 30/07/2011 15:49

Oh, well it was a genuine query, just based on the research I was doing before putting mine on.

Plenty of people come on here and blatantly say "I have x for sale", so I would have done that if I'd needed to! Nevermind!

OP posts:
FriggFRIGG · 30/07/2011 15:59

oh well,just a misunderstanding then.

Honeydragon · 30/07/2011 17:39

Less golf clubs are fake now...but usual ebay rules apply

check feedback and length of service

if it is too too too good to be true then it probably is.

I think I understand now, you've been looking at Verves to price yours and came across cheaper deals? Therefore assume they could be fakes?

Buggyman · 31/01/2012 13:07

Just musing indeed Deliakate - if you had taken the trouble of looking on Phil & Teds website, you would see that they are a bona fide distributor.
