Help! need a new buggy- getting rid of baby jogger, dunno where to start!!!

Right at the moment i have a baby jogger city mini which i have loved for over a year now..... But, DD is 19 months now and wants to sit up properly which she can't seem to do so she sits forward holding the sides of the buggy. I just feel that this can't be good for her back and would like something that goes completely upright! Please help!
I am also quite tall so need something thats not too short! Think i will sell the baby jogger (blub) so don't mind spending a bit more if its a good one........

I have a Maclaren Techno Xt which is only a few months old, could swap.

Or if you prefer to buy new, that is the one you need. I have had both, prefer the BJCM.

Why dont you swap for the new 2011 City Mini which as the upright straps that make the seat very straight? Or you can have a look at the differences and fashion your own sit upright strap! It can't be hard to do! It makes a huge difference. I will be back in a minute with a photo link to show you the difference and the strap.

Ok, I know this is the double but this is the difference a bit of webbing and velcro makes. The girl has it on and the baby doesnt. It's quite a difference. I purposely got the 2011 model as my DD hated being semi reclined.

Sorry for the separate posts but I am on my phone and lose the message if I copy more than one thing at once. Here is the sit upright strap it is simply a piece of webbing with Velcro on which you loop through the frame. Being utterly honest if you can do basis running stitch and can fashion something out of a Velcro toy tie (EBay) or a piece of ribbon, webbing, cotton strip etc and tack it firmly onto the rear of the seat you could DIY and save a lot of money. It doesn't matter if it looks messy as no one sees it under the recline weather flap! It's just hard fabric to get a needle through.

Thanks Guildford!!! I am reluctant to get rid of my BJCM so i'm going to look into this and get sewing! The recline is the only problem i have with it so if i can get that sorted it will be fab. Ive just been having a look at other buggies but not keen on a lot of them. Any more tips on fashioning this will be gladly received1 :-)

I have some more photos I can probably dig put for you. But to be honest I would use something easier to sew than webbing (it could be a strong shoe lace or thick ribbon - cotton type maybe?) and I would try and sew it onto the very top edge ie to make it easier to sew. I would sew two pieces one on top of another. Then simply poke one end through the top of the frame and tie it in a bow at the side. You could make a feature of it with funky ribbon or fabric. If you use ribbon just be aware of fraying and allow extra or sew the end over. If you put it on and pull tight with the pushchair empty then you won't be pulling DDs weight up on the strap. Another possible option but more faffy because of folding is to simply stuff a blanket down the back top edge of the seat which pushes it forwards.

This is the strap on ie wrapped around the frame and velcroed back onto itself.

I have a BJCMDouble and I can make the seats more upright by pulling the seat adjuster really tight when the seat is empty - you can get an extra inch or two of strap out which makes a big difference. This seems to change the angle of the seat (the bit their bum goes on) and make it less tipped backwards too. It doesn't work so well if you do it whilst the child is in the seat though. You want to get the strap pulled so tight it goes straight across the back of the seat back.

My friend who's a chippy also put in some thin MDF boards in the back pocket (under the adjuster is a velcro'd pocket) rather than importing the proper boards. This stops the child slumping in the seat.

Definately go for the 2011 as the BJCM is a fab pushchair!

I only ever found 1 pushchair that sat up perfectly straight and that was the M&P 03 Sport which was by no means lightweight or compact but II loved it soo much...

Have you got the front bar thing on the baby jogger? If your child can hold onto that it'd be comfier than trying to hold onto the sides?
