Best pushchair to emigrate with?

For a 18mo to take to Australia with us.

All our puschairs are ancient - have a P&T and a Maclaren Techno XT, both of which have been great in their way. We need a new pushchair that we can take on the plane with relative ease, but will be good for probably another 2 years with moderate to heavy use.

Personally I would choose a Baby Jogger - either the City Mini or the Elite - or the Mountain Buggy Swift.

Depends on how you plan on using it.

Compact but tough - Micralite Superlite or Baby Jogger city mini.

All terrain - Nipper 360

As a buggy addict i'd have to buy a native one, once i got out there.

I agree with suzie. If you're buying a new one, why not buy it in Australia? That's a whole load of new ones to look at!

I was about to suggest Maclaren Techno. We've got a quest which I like and is very light

Don't rate the micralite that highly

Dd is only 18 months, so we'd need a pushchair in the airport at each end, and we have a 14 hour stopover in Singapore.

When we arrive we'll have a short period with no car, so again a pushchair will be a necessity.

I was thinking of something lightweight that folds up small like the quinny zapp or similar, but want one that will be able to handle about a year's worth of solid use on the other side. Maybe the techno xt is the best option

Mountain buggy swift. No contest!
Its light, strong. Comfy for baby. Compact for travel. You can hang a v heavy change bag off the handlebar and it won't tip. Good news for travelling! The basket beneath is easy to access and roomy.
It's built to last.
The sun and rain covers are superb. Best quality.

I like the look of the Mountain Buggy Swift, but it's a bit out of my budget :( Was looking at more the £150 mark.

My friend has said that she can give us her old quinny zapp that we can use for the travelling, then get a new one over there - would solve the short term problem and give us more of a chance to shop around over there.

Aha mountain buggy is made in NZ though, and they're only $400 in Aus, so may well buy one of those over there. Much better value as it would equate to £180. Affordable!

Perfect! The Zapp will be so easy to get around with on the planes and in the airports, but you still get to buy a really good pushchair for using in Australia.
