Just found out we are pg again, which is brilliant, and although early days and trying not to get overly excited, do need to think about £££ and 2 DC!!

Our DS will be 2yrs 4 months when LO arrives, DH seems to think we will just need a buggy board to go on our current buggy, a britax vigour 3+ but I'm not so sure, I'm thinking something along the lines of a Phil & Ted's...

Any advice/experiences/anything really would be greatly received, just so I can start thinking about it and budgeting accordingly!!

Thank you x

It would depend on how good your ds is at walking tbh. I would only recommend a P&T if it was winter and you walked a lot. Otherwise I think you would be fine with a buggy board. You could use a sling for the newborn for the first month or two.

My dcs were 19 months apart and the P&T was fab but I only used it for 9 months.

Thank you very much that's really helpful, stupidly I completely forgot about slings!! We had one for DS too, can't believe how much I've forgotten about being pregnant and what you need for newborns!!

It will all come rushing back to you. Seriously I think it would be a waste of money buying a P&T with your age gap.

Good luck!

I think you would be fine with a buggy board however my eldest is 2.5 and I can see us having a double for some time yet. The only thing to watch are the upper weight limits if you do decide to get a double. Mountain Buggy and Phil & Teds are about the only two that safety test beyond 15kgs. With the P&T I highly recommend you try your son in the doubles kit seat on the top before buying. They are all slightly different and some are better for older children eg the Verve is great but the Dash is not.

It depends as well how much walking you are likely to do - I bought a second hand P&T when I was pg with no4. There is 2.5yrs between 3 and 4 so although I didn't use the double for long, it came in handy for school runs etc when I just didn't have time for no3 to fanny about. It is also good for days out (picnic carrier on the way out, knackered small child on the way back ;) )

However, with no1 and no2, I ditched the double for a buggy board by no1's 3rd birthday - there is 21mths between them.

Thank you all so much, it's great to hear/see other people's experiences, I feel a bit of a novice tbh, was just startng to think I was doing ok (ish) and then the thought of doing it all again (DS1 had reflux and the first 6months were utter hell in all honesty) and with a toddler too, it's quite overwhelming!! But he's such a lovely boy now he's not in pain all the time, I know that it's all worth it and I couldn't be happier!!
