Maclaren Swivel wheels won't fix.

I have a quest and the front wheels will not click into fixed mode. The clip doesn't seem to want to go down. I have washed the wheels and removed some grit from around the clip but there is no change.
Any ideas?

Try pressing it down whilst slowly swivelling the wheel slowly, sometimes it's a bloody PITA tricky finding the right spot

I have finally managed it by pulling the clip forward as I press downward. It is a faff and must be slightly out of alignment or something.
