Pushchair for a 9 month and 11 month old... help!!

We have just engaged a nanny with own child to start in a few months time. When she starts her DS will be 9 months and ours will be 11 months.

I've just been looking at double buggies on ebay and I'm not sure what to do... I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get a side-by-side buggy through our front door (if they were narrow enough the seats would be REALLY small!!), however, the tandem buggies seem to be for one baby and a toddler, so one of the seats won't lie back. Sounds as if one of the babies would be uncomfortable if they are out at nap time.

Has anyone come across a good buggy that gets around this problem? We'd be looking to buy second hand (probably ebay) if possible.

TIA

My sister and I have just bought a Jane Powertwin for our daughters of 7 and a half months. The seats are one infront of the other so it's really quite narrow but they both have decent sized seats that recline. People always say it's big when folded but it's really not. The front wheel on new versions and the back wheels on all versions come off really easily to fit into a small space. Ours fits easily into our Mum's Peugeot 207.
We found a few others that fit all our criteria except fitting into our Mum's tiny boot. The ones I remeber are Kolcraft Contours, Leebruss/ABC/OBaby Zoom, Graco stadium duo (I think), Safety First something or other. I'm struggling to remember them now!

Jane Twin Two, Mamas and Papas Duette
These three are expensive...iCandy Pear, iCandy Peach Blossom, Baby Jogger City Select
I think that's actually all of the ones we found.

You will struggle to find a standard umbrella fold tandem which has two good reclining seats. They are also very long when folded - over a metre long. I can't think of one with two good reclining seats on. Most have some recline on both seats but the back childs legs may be compromised. www.bestbuggy.co.uk specialises in double pushchairs and you can put pushchairs side by side to compare. However I think to get what you want you will need to pay more for something like a B-Dual or Graco or Jane. You should be able to get these on Ebay and resell them again later.

We have a M&P duette and it is good, both seats recline and are rear or front facing. The problem I found with fixed seats was the baby is meant to sit at the back so the heavier child is in front. THis makes it harder to steer and as your babies are close in age one will not be able to lie back. The duette also folds quite compact and then the seats stack on each other.

If you want I have the duette frame for sale as DD2 is not wanting to be in it any more. You would probably need to get at least 1 seat as the hood frame has snapped so I don't have a hood and the other seat I use on the MPX for DD2. Let me know if youre interested and I can send you a pic
