How much would you expect for a grubby p&T double?

Want to sell my P&T Sport. Is very well-used but still works great, just washed doubles seat. Would try to spray-clean rest - though is grubby. Have raincover too but no other extras.
Ebay seems to throw up wild prices! How much realistically do you think I should charge if selling on Gumtree? Am scared to start low on ebay...
Thanks

Hi, I sold my sil's old grubby P&T with doubles kit and double raincover.
I took covers off and washed them though and hood. Did some repairs with sewing machine to some fraying seams and attached part of the raincover back onto the binding. I replaced one inner tube, the front wheel cap thing, a bolt which the hood clips onto at the side of the handle bar, a back axle and a clip from the back of the seat cover. P&T [out n about I think] were very helpful and supplied parts cheap or free.
I listed honestly mentioning all faults and repairs and started it at £15 or so I think to cover costs.
It sold for £187!
Good luck

I would wait til a free listings weekend (prob get one in 2 weekends time as we have just had one) and start opening bid at reasonable amount that you would be happen to let it go for.

oh good idea! Hadn't thought of free listings weekend to start higher - though i know sometimes people don't like bidding on them. Dunoon, that's fab, how did you take covers off - i looked but seemed like they didn't remove...

you will get more for it if you are prepared to post it (send it now.co.uk) and I generally find that if you write a decent description listing all the faults etc with plenty of pics then you get more as people are happier to bid when the faults are listed and you can see them.

There were black plastic bits with screws in th centre that held the covers on. I just unscrewed them all and I think I might have had to either fold it or take handle off or some type of thing to slide covers off. It wasn't hard.

To take the handle off you'll need to push down the fabric over the supports and find the buttons, unscrew the screws and slide it off.

We have a third hand P&T, have taken it apart and put as much as will go in the washing machine and scrubbed the rest in the bath several times.

It all dries quite quickly on a sunny day

That's brill, thanks. Will make husband clean it then. How do you do the loadsa pics thing? Have been selling and buying on ebay for ten years! Shock but sporadically, so bypassed the whole link-to-pics thing. Yes, will do post option. Thanks for all tips. Is it unreasonable to expect £100 for it?

blimey I would start at £100 (or £99) you can have 6 pics for about 90p and up to 12 for £1.35 - just upload to your pc and add pics through the browse button

Adair · 09/05/2011 21:04

Ok fab, will do. You're right, I like to see lots of pics - have mostly only sold things with 99p start so not bothered before.
