Help; how do I clean the hood of a Sola?
emskaboo · 27/04/2011 20:32
I've just bought a lovely Sola in grass green from Ebay, but it has been Febreezed to hell and back. Does anyone know if I can wash the hood?
Thanks

Don't know how you'd get it off. I've got a Sola and the hood doesn't seem removable.

No, I finally managed to access a manual online and it would appear that you cannot wash it, or any of the other covers, oh bum! Ah well, thank you for responding.

I need to clean mine and am going to power hose after giving it a going over with a sponge and some fairy liquid.

i managed to take my sola apart today.
There are clips either side of the hood push in a slide out. Then unclip the seat cover from the seat unit (look on the back of the seat unit and just slide the button bits up or down)and the elastic for the hood is held in place by these buttons.
I sponged everything down with fairy liquid and warm water rinsed with sponge and plain water and hung out to dry. Polished the frame too looks great.

I had exactly the same problem a month ago! Grass green Sola, eBay and Febreze! Spooky.
We dismantled it and sprayed it all with a solution of bicarb of soda and hung it outside. It still smells a bit but not nearly as bad. We also bought a new footmuff from Mamas & Papas which, while ludicrously expensive for what it is means DS isn't lying directly on the Febrezed seat cover (the footmuff is detachable, leaving a nice soft liner).
