Out n About 360 Nipper Double or Baby Jogger City Mini???

As the title says I'm trying to decide between the 360 Nipper and the City Mini. I have a 2 year old and newborn and am undecided... both have great reviews. The 360 Nipper seems more lightweight, but I like the shade on the City Mini. Also, concerned that the 360 Nipper doesn't sit completely upright... has this been a problem for anyone?

Thanks

Can't comment on the second one but we have had 2 of the Nippers now (just because we got the first one as a hand-me-down which was already very well used, and we finished it off!). We then got another because we liked the first one so much!

It is very lightweight for a double, reasonably straightforward to fold up (and fits in a normal boot), has TONS of storage (though we do have the basket which I think is extra normally) and we have used it from newborn-and-2 to 1 and 3 years old. It's true that it doesn't go completely upright, but we didn't have any issues with that, as that mainly affected the older one and by that stage he would just perch on the edge anyway.

It is wheelchair width so fits through almost all shop doorways, unfortunately it didn't quite fit through our front door but we found we could fit it through by popping one of the wheels off which is relatively easily done. Very easy to manoeuvre, and it could handle most places we took it, including some quite rough country walks.

Hi I can only comment on using the double nipper but I have had (and loved) the single City mini.

My mum has twins and bought the Nipper 360 as a lightweight pushchair when they were 2, I am only 5ft 3 and thought the handle was too low (but I do prefer higher handles) and I also hated the way the seats sat. It's not even that they were'nt upright the twins used to get really annoyed because the seats are angled on a backward slope so they not only kind of lie back but their bum is lower than their knees which looked uncomfy.

Otherwise it was a decent pushchair very lightweight etc and would probably be fine for a younger child but here we all hated it. The shopping basket also costs extra but their are big bags on the backs of teh seats which are okay. Oh and folding is a faff but quite compact in teh end.

The single BJCM was absolutely fantastic mainly because of the easy fold, the fact that the seat was upright(ish), plenty of storage again a basket on the seat and underneath, and the hiood was invaluable to us as it kept wind, sun and rain out. But the tyres are not pneumatic so if you would be in the woods or rural paths etc it may not be so good.

Personally I would go for the BJCM :)

Mountain Buggy Terrain Double on special offer here - says for Europe - so hopefully that may include UK Excellent price considering this is the older version (reputed to be better build quality) and has the snuggle bags included!

Love love my nipper, the seat doesn't sit completely upright but we've never had a problem, it sits up plenty for my 2 year old, the netted vent behind the seats is attached and a cushion can be put comfortably behind the seat if you do need it more upright ( we have used the space blankets and jackets and its perfect) the only negative with the nipper is when its folded and the space in the boot, check ur boot will take it, but I don't know any side by side doubles that fold up nice and compact other than that I can't fault the nipper!

I have the BJCM double and have mixed feelings. I love my single, but the double has a huge basket that's hard to access and the non adjustable handle gives me back ache (I think it's because it's the double and you can't hold down the sides like the single). But the hoods are amazing, the lie flat is simply fab, the sit up strap on the 2011 means the seats can go completely upright (my two year old hates being reclined), the mesh pockets on the back are good storage. My husband says it pushes like a shopping trolley and if I were to buy another, I think I would check the Elite out first. The 2011 Nipper has a lot more features to the old one including an adjustable handle. The BJCM wins on fold. It's so easy and simple and pretty flat. You can also put a carrycot on the BJCM or put in a soft cot. I have to say though both pushchairs are too wide for my local shops so I am at some point selling the BJCM for a Mountain Buggy Duet. If you don't shop then the BJCM is still one of the best doubles out there. But the Nipper looks really comfy and I have heard good things about it.

Hi, i have a 9 month old and am due in July, i had exactly the same dilemma!! my friend has the nipper and loves it but i dont like 3 wheelers but thought i'd cope if couldnt find anything else. However i found the BJCM and instantly fell in love especially as i got it for £224 brand new from Amazon (2011 model). i love it, obviously i havent been out n about with it yet as babes not arrived but its so easy to fold and put up, it fits through both my front and back doors. The only things i will say is its annoying it doesnt have a rain cover but loads dont these days, and the accessories are expensive but i have recently bouhgt a Graco carry cot to go in mine and actually fits ok!!!! althoug you have to swap the hoods (which are amazing) round which looks a bit wierd. Hope this info helps. xxxx
