Mountain Buggy Breeze?

Can anyone tell me anything about this model?

I am particularly wondering how quickly the seat is outgrown.

They are on special offer on the Mountain Buggy website (presumably discontinued in favour of the new Swift model)for only £199 including bottle holder and snuggle bag.

I am v tempted to get one for my visits to family up north (dales and moors and plenty of cobbles) and muddier weekend outings round forests or over pebble beaches (although our cameleon is fab for weekends in truth with it's all terrain wheels).

My main concern would be the seat size as my kid is 2y and growing fast - but it would be a 2nd buggy and compactness and versatility for travel would be a plus.

It's amazingly light and the seat is a reasonable size. It really depends if you can cope with a fixed wheel - fine for off roading I suppose but personally I loathe them!

I used to have a Landrover with DD2 - long ago - so am familiar with fixed wheel - although the landrover wheelbase looks longer - so not sure how the balance will be.

Some of the terrain I'd want to use it on would really benefit from the fixed wheel anyway (beaches, moors, muddy farms, rough pebbley beaches).

I think I'll have to sell my Bee Plus though - as I'm finding the Cameleon better for everyday - and the Bee isn't getting much use since the Cameleon was obtained!

It's just I know the Cameleon will take up lots of car space on holidays where we can ill afford so much space taken up with it! The bee though compact won't do the muddy off road stuff we do lots of when away. it's definately more a city pram but like I said, I do prefer the cameleon to it in truth for everyday.

I'd look for a 2nd hand pegasus/landrover tbh as the seats on those are much bigger yet a similar weight?

I know what you mean - but the last few I've seen on ebay have looked a bit "tired"....it's a long time since production stopped on those models.
Also they're not soooo compact for the bus - was thinking I'd get away with the Breeze for the bus.
Not sure what resale value on MB breeze would be though.....still an alternative to a Maclaren or BJCM as 2nd buggy - as the Breeze is definately looking more designed for the folk who like to off road if possible!

i have had one in my shopping basket twice now and got as far as checkout and then realised I DO NOT NEED ONE!!

but i want someone else to get a bargain!

LOL - well it will only be a bargain for me if I sell the bee plus (little used nowadays) and get lots of use from the Breeze (will be a good 2nd buggy along with the Cameleon I think - both very different and very useful for my needs.).

I've ordered a black one (with plum sleeping bag - which I'm anticipating being too small for 2y old ds - but maybe we could use the liner or sell it?)...I must be off to bed now - as I need to get up early and sort the Bee+ out to put on ebay!

I did take the Bee+ on the bus the other day - but was none to happy with all the granny trolleys that got stacked on it - there is nowhere on our buses to "roll on roll off" it has to be folded and put in the luggage bay.
I was a bit miffed all the urban college models were out of stock - I'd kept looking at them but did not need one.....(too big for the bus/travelling I think)!

We go on a lot of country walks, and also live near the sea, so I think the fixed wheel will work really well for us.

We have ordered the plum sleeping bag, too :)

I have one, got it second hand from ebay for £90 (though it was pretty much new IMO). I have had an urban for 3.5 years and wanted a second buggy a bit smaller.

I got it for PT and to fit in the car better, and both of these are great. It is very light. I do find the fixed wheel a little bit of a pain, more that I can't get out of people's way when they jump in front of me, but I use it a lot around shops and it's fine- great also for bumping up/down steps.

The wire basket took a bit of getting used to, and I can't fit as much shopping under there as I like. I have learnt to stand things on end rather than lay them flat if that makes sense, it takes a bit of time but means I can get much more under there. It's also a bit of a pain for smaller items and there's no little pockets like on the bigger ones for mobiles/keys etc if you want to go out without a bag.

My LO is wee, so will fit in there for quite some time, I feel the hood height is more an issue than the side to side seat bit for growth.

Ah, thanks for your review. I'm not using my second buggy (bugaboo bee +) so much for shopping and town as I'd anticpated. More for PT to parks, beaches when H is away and as I don't drive (yet) I just want to get out with the kids! The bee is really only good in town. Town trips quickly become v expensive with 4 hungry, thirsty, sequin loving kids in tow! .
I need something better suited to forests, beaches and rough ground, so we can do less expensive activities than urban outings!
I hope Ds won't be too tall for the hood. He's almost 3 and average size.

I will probably take a rucksack on outings. Picnic, drinks, pac macs x 4 plus nappies, wipes, plasters, crab bait, binoculars, walkie talkies, camera...

Mine has arrived - can't tell you how thrilled I am - although I will try.
It's quite similar to the Land Rover all terrain buggy (considered the best off-roader at one time and now extinct - except for some old tired ones on eBay).
It has the true - off-road wheel base - but it's compact enough nobody would trip over it in a shop.
It's seat is larger than a Maclaren - and it's not so compact you feel you're pushing a toy buggy.
It's very very solid - strong - well built - lovely seat/hood/harness. Height adjustable handlebar is strong and robust - with nice rubber grip (which feels durable and a nice texture).
It has no raincover included - I will buy a black clippasafe buggy raincover (the old fashioned kind with hood and zip made of nylon) and fit this permenantly beneath the hood so it's hidden away and always to hand.

One word of warning - make sure your kid does not try to climb into the wire basket beneath - my son did and got stuck - which gave him a real fright and we spent 2 or 3 minutes gently prising him out again.... don't think he'll be doing that again in a hurry!

Can't wait to get out and about with our new buggy - I have a Cameleon as my main everyday luxury buggy (we walk 4 miles min daily) - and this Breeze makes an excellent weekend / off-road or public transport buggy if you don't like umbrella folds.

Actually - I used to have a landrover for DD2 - long ago - and although this is similar in weight (v light) and handles similarly - and has a true off - road base structure (no swivel wheel), what I like better about this is the childs sitting position - and that it can recline for sleep - and the height adjustable handlebar, and the fabrics and wire basket beneath feel much more durable.

I am debating buying this too...I hated 3 wheelers, til i bought a MB urban and I ADORE it, but its quite big for me to be going out walking with, lifting over the fences etc for when I am walking the dog...is the breeze small enough to do this with? I won't part with my urban anyway!! (I have beautiful pink romance covers on it! lol) Not sure about the fixed wheel, but then like I said, I hated 3 wheelers til i bought a MB anyway!
