hi im deciding if i need to buy a p&T (thats the only double i like) or if i can just manage with the bugaboo i already have.

i have dd who will be 5.10 and ds 2.9 when this baby born, i just had a buggy board with dd when ds was born but sometimes i did struggle and dd would try and sit on the front etc so i want to have a double but what did you think of using the p&t with the newborn in the back not facing you, thats the only thing that puts me off.

if you have the car seat on the top can you still put the toddler in the bottom seat, and also at what age did you put little dc in the bottom seat? can you get a cosy toes thing for the top and bottom?

lots of questions, give me your views !!

I love the P&T but have loved it more since DS2 was old enough to be in it like a buggy, rather than in the fully-reclined newborn position. I think this was partly because it was really cold when he was born (and he was a month early, 5lb12oz) so he seemed really vunerable to cold in it. He was much happier and slept brilliantly in the sling, so he didn't go in the P&T much until he could sit up. Also he isn't a natural buggy sleeper so that didn't make me want to use it much at that stage. Also when you have a tall toddler, they look quite odd sitting on the doubles kit when it's on top of the buggy. The bar is right at the back of their head so if you go over a bump in the road they are liable to bang their head on it, as well as it not being particularly comfortable. Not sure about the peanut or maxi cosi car seat, whether those are better solutions, we just used the cocoon.

our toddler was too tall to get the raincover on when set up for a newborn, however we are loving it now, DD2 has sat in the back from 4 months and loves it. I have a buggysnuggle on both seats so DD2 can sit in the front when she is on her own and on some models you can use the car seat and have a toddler
