Bugaboo Bee Hood failure

Bucketeer · 06/02/2011 21:47

All,

I have a Bugaboo Bee for just under three years and the hood frame has now broken away from its hinge.

Do you think this is reasonable?

I am asking because I am going back to the retailer with this.

Thank you for your views,

Regards

Keith

Hm, difficult one.

I have a friend whose Bugaboo chassis snapped and she got the whole thing replaced via the retailer (John Lewis) when it was out of warranty.

My Bugaboo has been lovely, but in the last 4 years we've had it repaired 5 times, one repair within warranty, the rest not. I guess most people who have them probably don't walk as much as we do and maybe would have replaced it by now. Personally though I think if you are paying £500+ for a buggy it had better last at least 2 children!

Give it a go - it's worth a try, but if you get nowhere there are people who specialise in Bugaboo repairs and spare parts who I use for ours.

I most certainly would not expect a retailer to replace something that due to normal wear and tear for the last three years has now broken. However as they are only a tenner for the pair you can easily order them!!

Do you mean the rods have come out of the clamps (you know they are suposed to and they just slot back in??)

Thank you for your replies, it's not clear cut - I'll see where I get with the retailer
