side to side - will it be lopsided?

I'm looking at getting a double buggy, I'll have a newborn and a biggish 18 month old. I like the ones where they can sit next to each other rather that one staring at the back of a seat, but am wondering if it will be all over the place at first with the big weight difference.

Maybe I should go for a tandem one as everyone says they fit though doorways better etc.

Please help!

I had a mountain buggy with a newborn and a 3 year old and it was fantastic!! No problems being lopsided at all and could fit in nearly everywhere. I had the carrycot one side for baby. Pushed everywhere like a breeze even across the beach. :) I once tried a friends tandem and it was a REAL struggle in comparison. Can't recommend them highly enough

Thanks for reply, what is a mountain buggy? Is it three wheeler off roader? never heard of it. I was thinking of nipper 360 or similar.

hi i had the nipper 360 and it was fantastic. i used it for newborn a 12 month old i didnt find that it was lopsided at all it was excellent puch and manouver!

nipper is fine with a big one and a little one but it takes a bit of getting used to when going up and down curbs. Tried a cheapo stroller last week in a shop with my large 3yo on 1 side and the other side empty (DD2 was asleep) and it was fine so have got a techno xt twin coming from ebay, will let you know how i get on!

Thanks for replies all. I think I will wait till baby here then go to shop and put them in one and wheel it about.

Does the nipper fold down easily enough?

it does fold down quick and easy if you are using both hands, one handed can be done but not easily also it is quite heavy/bulky.

a double baby jogger folds really quickly. There was a double city classic quite cheap on ebay that was brand new. Sold by online4baby whom i have shopped with before. They are very reliable in my experience. Baby jogger prams are fantastic. Really nice quality. Roomy seats so long lasting. Nice to push. Light and so fast and easy to set up and fold.

i have a maclaren twin triumph and a p & t for my 4 yr old and 14mth old.have no problems with either, the maclaren isnt lopsided even with two children with a big age/weight difference but i do alternate seats each time they use it just so that the 4 yr old doesnt 'wear out' one side of the buggy long term!
