P & T models?

Is there a major difference between the different models, e.g. the Sport and the E3. Which is better?

I have only just started considering P & T as I had kind of assumed I would just get a buggy board for DD, who will have just turned 3 when DC2 comes along. They were recommended by a friend in a similar situation who suggested baby could use it as a single unless we are going somewhere we will be walking for ages (as we often do!) and then baby can go underneath if DD needs a rest. Made sense to me. Do you reckon it would work like that? Or would it just be simpler to get a buggy board for her to be lazy with ?

E3 is around 10 years old, the Sport was the best selling but has now been discontinued and replaced by the Explorer which is the most user friendly of the P&T ranges IMO.

1 hand fold, sun visors on the double kit and currently cheaper than the Dash.

Turning any P&T from double to single is simple and the DK is about the same weight as a buggy board anyway - which is hard to use safely on the Sport as you can't get to the brake!

Plenty of E3 on eBay but watch out for bust bearings and sagging shopping baskets.

For the price, a new Explorer is the winner!

Beware.... I had an E3, fab buggy, loved it to bits but at 2.6 yo I tried DD1 in the newborn setup (toddler on top seat and main seat flat for baby) in preparation for DD2's arrival and she was already too tall to get the raincover on, reluctantly sold it as naff all use to me for the first 5-6 months. If you are going to get 1 try them out in that setup in case your toddler is too big too

i have an e3 (have had 2 of them) and i love it,i bought it for long days out and holidays,it was a lifesaver when we went to blackpool,my youngest is 2,and the bigger 2 swapped around when they needed a nap (late nights) they are 5 &6!

Are the doubles kits interchangeable?

Also, I was confused looking on ebay that a lot of pushchairs were listed as e3 explorers. Or there are people selling explorers that they say they got last year. They've only just come out though, no?

the doubles kit for the original E3 and the sport are interchangeable as I had a sport kit on my E3.
Dont know when the new explorer was released but we are only 23 days into 2011 so maybe they did get them last year?

I've got an explorer, got it 3wks ago but they were out towards end last yr for a while. It's best buggy yet! I've had loads! Had a double nipper when dd2 was born and dd1 was 2.5, now age 3and baby 6months........miss nipper a bit for easy access to both girls but......dd1 clearly walks as a rule of thumb so the baby goes in front routinely and I use back seat for the clobber that comes with two kids, just ordered panniers. And handle hang bag, dd1 needs the seat for longer walking days and often when tired walking home from preschool, it's not miles but just a shade too much for her but she walks quite a bit of it and it's been soooooo cold! Suits me as single and double, ace fold, push, comfy seat, sun visors, quality.....buy one! Got mine kiddicare for bargain price. I'd persevere with the the newborn bit for the few months you need it as once baby sit up more put em in front, recline for naps and dd1 has to walk then anyway but usually hops in back for tired legs, technically she should go in front and baby in back but I'm careful! It's hard to believe two in there! Pushes so well. If I still had nipper would only be using it for playgroup walk as got sick of width in shops and cafes and public toilets........has to come in with me and dd1! baby can't just park up outside! Sorry bit of a waffle I realise but am knackered!

Your friends rec to use as a single is bang on. Always have the seat on back of mine and it's gets used for either child or their stuff! Dd1 prefers back! Says its hiding place, she's quite big though, just over weight limit for doubles kit on back but front seat has bigger weight limit....biggest I've seen on a pram anyways. She looks fine once in but I have to swing her legs in for her, she looks fine in main seat when dd2 in back also. Plenty hood room. Only change I'd make is doubles kit slight recline like the old sport had and the dash has but for my kids age gap it's not essential, nor for yours I'd imagine at all! Can you tell I love it!
