mould on pushchair

OK so I am fuming at dp who left the bloody pushchair in the shed despite me telling him not to now it is covered in mould (only been there about 2 weeks)

please tell me how to get it off

Google "remove mould from pushchairs". I have done it myself (remove the mould that is, not googled.. but I've done that as well....) but the treatment can vary so have a look at the options and use the one you think most suitable. It shouldn't be too devastating if it's not been there too long.

As for your partner, can I suggest he googles it and cleans it off???

take off anything removeable, stick in the sink in a mix of bio washing powder for a couple of hours (persil prob)

Stick in washing machine on hand wash cycle and hope for the best.

Anything else, scrub with solution of washing powder.

Your DP? I'd apply wire scrubbing brushes to his genitalia and then link them to the mains

I'm pretty sure i read on here if the fabric is man made then a good option is pressure washing as the mould settles between the fibres and possibly will get 'jetted' out...Whereas in cotton for example it gets 'set' in the actual fabric...Then wash removeable fabrics in the washing machine.

Is it the black dot type mould?

I was given a zapp that was COVERED in it - to use for the chassis only with car seat. dh took it upon himself to atttempt to sort the covers, sprayed them and left them a few hours, then washed in the machine, repeated a few times & every single bit came off!

detol mould remover is fab.

Milton mould and mildew works well as well. What kind of pram is it? Can the covers come off?

Yes the Dettol mould and mildew remover is fab and def works.

However do a spot test first as some fabrics it can bleach.

What pushchair is it. I have scrubbed my maclaren covers with a bleach and water solution before to remove the black spot mould. It worked straight away without fading the colours, I then put them straight in the washing machine and gave them a couple of washes and rinses.

They looked like new.

To remove white fluffy mould I would first soak in the bath in a solution of bioloigical washing powder and napisan. Leave to soak for 1/2 hour. Give a good scrub with a brush whilst in the bath and then put in the machine and wash.

I have cleaned a coulpe of buggies with white mould (I love cleaning dirty buggies for people! The dirtier, the better the challenge), and if it is just the fluffly looking stuff it comes out in the wash fine. I figure adding napisan should kill off any spores left behind.

Good Luck. Ca you let me know if you rescue it. If not I'm fairly sure you can buy just the fabrics for a mountain buggy.

Mine was black dot though - fluffy is easy so get DP scrubbing with biological washing powder. You can remove all the covers, but if you don't need to, don't.

have now got me wondering whether I should buy the slightly mouldy phil and teds in the local charity shop for £25?!!

(someone stop me I allready have 3 doubles)
