DH is tall - I am small.

Anyone know of pushchairs (from birth) with very extendable handles?

Bugaboo I'm short, DH tall it's always worked for us plus as suitable for a toddler as it was for a newborn.

NonnoMum · 02/01/2011 22:11

Mountain Buggy? (With the carrycot from birth)

The phil and teds VIBE also has a handle that can go up and down think it might be 3 settings so a less flexible than the bugaboo.

bb99 · 02/01/2011 22:19

Any of them good with a buggy board?

Our Mutsy 4rider has v v extendable handles, and you can buy a buggy board especially for it.

Sorry, I know its mean, but a whole topic just dedicated to pushchairs. I mean are you all really that interested?

Just how much do you all use your pushchairs?

thisisyesterday · 02/01/2011 22:27

seeing as there are also topics specifically devoted to car seats, household goods, chickens (!!), nappies etc etc I hardly think this one is out of place

why wouldn't there be a specific topic to ask about pushchairs?

FunnysInTheGarden · 02/01/2011 22:29

dunno really, just seems that unlike other specific topics, the pushchair one has its own sub devision of MN living a parallel life.......

flowerytaleofNewYork · 02/01/2011 22:29

What makes you think everyone on this thread is hugely interested in pushchairs?

Can only speak for myself but I saw a question in Active Convos that I could help with so i opened the thread to post. Doesn't mean I am particularly interested in push chairs just because I posted on a thread about one.

FunnysInTheGarden · 02/01/2011 22:31

maybe I am thinking of the Pushchair Shed. Everyone there is HUGELY interested in pushchairs

thisisyesterday · 02/01/2011 22:32

maybe you are.
maybe they are.

does it matter?

FunnysInTheGarden · 02/01/2011 22:34

No, just musing. Perhaps I have got beyond the whole pushchair stage. Mind you do remember obsessing about it with DS1 Grin

Funny every day we use our pushchair I do not use a car so in order to go anywhere I (and I live in a rural area) I need to do a fair bit of walking and bus or train catching.
So I go too 1 playgroup, 1 BF group, swimming class, visit family (15 min walk to train station then long train journey) odd bits of food shopping like milk and bread 12 min walk, Dr and dentis and optician appoitments etc etc.

I need a buggy that copes well in rural enviroment, fits on public transport and into shops and has a decent basket.

For some people having the right buggy is very important.

Britaxb smart goes from birth can get a three wheel or four wheel version. Can also get carseat and carrycot

bb99 · 02/01/2011 22:49

I have looked and looked on the net and the details of just HOW adjustable the handles are are very few and far between.

One I was looking at a person I know has just bought and turns out the handle extension is crap not good.

So, looking for xp and ideas from the mns who know! Grin

I already have a (15 year old) push chair, having a punt at getting a new one for a new dc!

Thank you all for info and advice so far - look forward to more.

bb A good place for reviews is Youtube watching videos and seeing the buggy in action can help a lot compared to the manufacturers ads and speil on the buggy.

clumsymumluckybaby · 02/01/2011 23:47

bugaboo bee has an utterly amazing range of handle height options (yes i am obsessed by pushchairs)best ive ever had or seen.

britax be smart is good

mutsy is better.

what you want to look for is 'extendable' handles, rather than just 'adjustable.Smile

I brought the Mothercare MY 3 Pushchair as it has adjustable handles as my husband is tall and is also used on the lowest setting when my 9 year ols wants to push it! The seat unit is also a carrycot and is bigger than most seperate carrycots ive seen on the market so lasts longer and you can put a Maxi Cosi Car seat on it aswell and Its a good price! Ive had mine for 2 years now and its still going strong!

Thank you all - the search continues Wink
