Hi there

Does anyone know when the actual launch date is and if it can be pre-ordered?

Have been researching doubles for ages now and am no nearer to finding the pram for us, until I came a accross mention on here of the Bugaboo Donkey last night. Have had a mooch on tinternet and it looks ecellent, like just what we need (although not sure we need to spend the amount pounds it no doubt is!) but can't find anything other than released spring 2011 and no mention of price anywhere!

Am due mid march and am hoping I can get my mitts on one of the first ones....... any suggestions on how??

TIA and happy new year!

It can be pre-ordered as I know someone who has but she's a bit nervous as to which will arrive first her twins or the donkey!

afaik you can't pre-order it anywhere and there is no definite release date

if i were you i would look for an alternative because even if it does get released in time you may still have to wait to actually get your hands on one.

best to have a back-up just in case

are you expecting twins or do you have an older child?

thisisyesterday · 31/12/2010 20:42

oooh i am wrong! where did she pre-order cargirl???

the name really puts me off though. donkey? i mean who thought that one up?

CarGirl · 31/12/2010 20:45

speak to the owner Gary of this shop

www.whwatts.co.uk/

that's where friend is getting hers from. HOwever friend does have a back up just in case as bugaboo can be a bit rubbish on release dates.

It costs more than a cameleon.......

InspectorGadget · 31/12/2010 20:47

Ooo CarGirl do you know where your friend preordered from?

I have a 16 month old, will be 19 months when baby arrives. I like the fact that it can be used as a single once DS is wanting to walk everywhere, not keen on the others that do this such as P&T as feel the baby is sitting too low to the ground/in the shopping basket!

Oh sorry, didn't see last 2 posts!

Thanks for that, I will give them a ring after the new year. When are your friends twins due?

We didn't buy a pram when our DS was born as my friend gave us her pram but I didn't like it at all and was not what I would have chosen, we don't have parents or anyone to buy us a pram and felt we were spending so much on all the other baby kit that we economised in this area.

So I feel a bit like I was to splurge on the pram of my dreams as this will be my last baby (honest it will)! And I reckon it'll hold value too, so is more of an investment?

The name is shit though eh? Donkey? WTF??

OP posts:
CarGirl · 31/12/2010 20:58

The name is rubbish I agree!

I think the price will be horrific (£1k at a guess) and who knows about resale value, should be high judging on the rest of their products.

Twins due May so likely to be born March/April.

InspectorGadget · 31/12/2010 21:04

Yeah am guessing a grand or so, hopefully not too much more with all the add ons as the pit is by no means bottomless. In fact the pot only has £600 in it at the moment! Ha hubby will freak when I tell him I want a 1K pram!!

i just dont get the shopping trolly bit on the side when not in double use, my dd would throw whatever was in it out lol

thisisyesterday · 31/12/2010 21:35

yeah i thought that too, it's a bit odd. when i first saw it i thought that was the carrycot lol

Raahh · 31/12/2010 21:41

I saw this, and thought it was a nativity related joke!!Grin

InspectorGadget · 31/12/2010 21:43

I thought that too actually, like it was a wee basinette for a newborn!

I have heard on the grapevine, that all in with 2 seats and carrycots, its around £1200. Bad name though. Its not like bugaboo to drop such a clanger on the name front.

beanlet · 31/12/2010 21:47

What a STUPID ugly name!

MeWombat · 31/01/2011 16:10

Looks like its coming in April(from a couple of sites) and will be priced high.

"prices (from Bugaboo's site)

in mono configuration: £899
in duo configuration: £1099
in twin configuration: £1219

The Bugaboo Donkey is available in two base colours - black and sand ? and 6 tailored colours: red, pink, sand, off white, black, royal blue.
