Stroller for tall stingy parents?

I currently have a Maclaren Quest. I love it, but it is slightly short for me (and way too short for DH). I'm 5'11", he's 6'4".

I had concluded that the best option would be a second-hand XT or XLR as these have adjustable handles - but I'm now realising that the XT max height is 110, the same as the fixed height of this one . I could buy the Safety 1st new for not much more than a 2nd hand XT and make up the difference with my points. Has anyone had one of these?

Any other stroller recommendations from tall parents? Or anyone looking to sell one? Haven't had much luck on the for sale boards so far :(

theres a scarlett xt on the forsale board just now.

babies r us has a stroller on offer just now,a swift i think it is,its black and quite similar to the xt,very sturdy and has high handles. its only £49.99,and free delivery if you spend over £50

I'd love that scarlet one but looking to pay about half that :( about to move house so got to save my pennies.

I'll check out that babies r us one, thanks.

Have had a look, that looks pretty good sazm although the hood's not as big as xt. Have you got one? Is it fairly comfy would you say? DS is 8mo and sleeps in pram a lot (mind you he sleeps in a Zapp at GPs house so probably not that fussy!)

i nearly bought it,then ended up selling one of my other buggies so bought a black xt!

i had my lo (nearly 2yo) in it in the shop,he was nearly sleeping lol, well padded and nice to push even with him in it!

have had 2 bruin strollers before and they were fabby:)

do you have a toys r us nearby where you could go and look at one?

Grumpla · 28/11/2010 00:47

Yep, and DH has agreed to get up off his sick bed and take me there tomorrow!

I love my old Quest so much though, so light and nippy, and cool retro colours. I may ask FiL to see if he can put longer handles on it. He is very very techy engineering type.

I love the baby jogger city mini pushchair because of it's high handle bar; I'm convinced my posture has improved massively since I've had it, from not having to stoop and push. They are pricey enough new (£150ish?), but you do see them second hand on here quite often.
They also have a big seat which reclines fully, the best folding mechanism ever, and an extra extending hood which is great for weather protaction.
Can't recommend it enough actually!

DH too sick to take us out on Sunday so I bought this on eBay instead!

Not exactly a stroller though :) but we have had five inches of snow here over the weekend and I decided there was no point buying a pram that wouldn't cope with the weather!

It's filthy but sturdy, and VERY light. I'm going to strip it down on my kitchen floor now I think (prams are pretty much the same as bikes, right?!?!)

I do like the look of those Baby Jogger jobs though...

Another vote for Baby Mini City Jogger. Folds so easily, hood comes right down, seat lies flat, quite a decent accessible basket space underneath. Really easy to turn/steer. Can push with one hand. Very high handle but seems comfy no matter what height (my mum is small but has no probs) I am tall as is DH Smile

Wow. Thats a mountain buggy isnt it? Great price.

nicolamumof3 · 29/11/2010 21:47

great price for a mb!!

Grumpla · 29/11/2010 22:50

Oh my god, the FILTH that just came off that pram!
Tis quite a nice colour now. And you can see through the raincover!

Yeah it says 'Mountain Terrain' on the footplate, wasn't sure if that was the same thing as a Mountain Buggy?

I recongised it as a mountain buggy almost immediately. Good buy!

Not sure about the black gaffer tape handlebar though... might have to get some handlebar tape on there instead!
