I Candy help.....

Hi i am going to need a pram suitable for a 2.5 yr old and a newborn.

I am considering the i candy but being an i candy virgin need a bit of help.

I beleive the peach blossom is the latest one but as i intend to buy 2nd hand was thinking of an older model so...

Can i buy any model and upgrade with the pip adapter?
Or do i need the pear/peach??

What is the differnce does anybody know?

Can the pear be used as a single?

Any suggestion/reccomendations apreciated

i must admit to not knowing much about icandy products, but the one thing i do know is that the seats aren't huge. i tried my (then) 2 year old in one in john lewis and he was quite cramped

The Pear can be used as a single. My cousin had one for her dt's. She liked it a lot when they were smaller. Was great that it took the maxi-cosi seats, but they looked a bit too big for the seats at around 20 months. Also it is pretty heavy, so ok if you have it just for walking, but a real pain if you need to put it in and out of the car regularly. Also to collapse it both the seats need to come off and the double adaptor. She has since bought a double nipper 360.

If you do decide to buy one 2nd hand. Check that all the zips on the seat units are working (these have a tendency to break). Also make sure the adjustable handle works and isn't locked in one position. Again this seems to be another common problem. It happened to my cousin's, her's was repaired free under warranty.

So general concensus then small seats??? although DD is small build wouldnt want hr to be cramped!

Can you try her in one? I think they were small seats, but if your dd is on the small side she might be fine.

tho she might not fit for long even if she fits now

Do any of you use a double, can you recomend one to look at???

I use a i-candy pear, brought off ebay 2nd hand in v good condition, its a super pram esp if you do a lot of walking about. Have a 2.4 and 9 month old in and is much better now youngest can sit up, larger seat not too small for oldest, on the down side;

• newborn lie flat attachment didnt last long.

• rain covers are a bugger to get on

• when in double mode can be hard to get stuff under pram

• need a big car boot

I was pretty clueless about them but went into lewis pretending to be intersted in a new one and got assistant to talk me through it

they sell them in most John lewis', pop in and try one.

i used a teutonia team alu for ages which is parent facing side by side. lovely, lovely pram but very heavy, so not ideal if you need to take in and out of car a lot

tbh i would say mountain buggy every time unless you specifically want it parent facing.
it's light, easy to manouvre, can put a carrycot on, it's one of the narrowest side-by-side doubles

someone recommended this site the other day.
selling off the original mountain buggys (new ones are made by phil and ted's and build quality apparently much poorer)

this is an absolute steal! bear in mind they originally retailed at around £600!!!!
