Best pushchair to take me from newborn to toddler

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend the best pushchair that I can use from newborn to toddler? Ideally something light to mid weight, that will fit in the boot of my VW Golf. I live in a small town just outside of London so will mainly just be using it locally to go shopping or for walks, but intend to go into London fairly regularly to visit friends to it needs to be relatively public transport friendly too. We are fairly limited on storage so something that can convert from flat to sitting up without the need for separate carry cot etc. would be preferable. Thanks in advance!

We had a maclaren techno xt from
Birth and still using Now2.5 yrs on. If I had my time again I would probably go for one of new bugaboo bee plus. Both these are light fold easy but bugaboo bee can rear face which you may prefer. Not sure how bugaboo is for new born(I think you can get a nest doe it) but prob worth buying a head support for maclaren .

lots of people seem to think it's not cosy enough for a little one, but get a footmuff/bunnysnuggle/fleecy blanket and you'll be fine. DD2 (16 days) is very happy in it even in this rotten weather.

And both pass transport test as light easy and slim so go down bus aisles. Would recommend sling too- ergo is best IMHO (had baby bjorn but these aren't much use over a year )

Thanks for the recommendations so far, will check those out, ideally looking for a rear facing pushchair if possible though so probably rules out the maclaren.

There is a new Quinny zapp out too that friend testing and raves about so may want to check that out- it's rear facing too
