went to John Lewis and had demo of both yesterday and it was between these 2 for a 2nd pushchair for 7 month old DD and upcoming hols...

loved lightness and width of XT but just thought seat seemed flimsy and not very padded/comfy for days out, loved BJCM but thought the wheels made it a bit wide and as I have Quinny Buzz want something much lighter, narrower.

Showed DH and after much debate ordered the XT in red from mothercare. But woke up this morning thinking I have made a mistake and how easy the mini jogger was to put down/up, and how much sturdier the whole seat unit was.

HELP!! only ordered the XT last night, can I cancel or do I have to wait for it to come... we paid £195 so not much more for BJCM... am I doing the right thing??

i've just bought a black xt for my ds (2y) its FAB. i couldnt decide what to get either! its lovely to push,i can push it easily one handed with him in it,theres loads of space in it,i have a phil and teds which i use for holidays as i have a 4yo and 6yo too and sometimes they need a nap on holiday if we have been out all day,im hoping we can use the xt and they can all swap if tired lol!

havent had a bjcm so cant comment on them, they just dont do it for me lol,but lots of people seem to rate them well too,

I've had both. Prefer the bjcm by far. Seems sturdy and seat is nicer for child. Also hood is stronger. I also prefer the handlebar on the bjcm as you can push the buggy with one hand. You can't really do that with a two handled Maclaren. You can also add a play tray or bumper bar on the bjcm making it more versatile. I just think you get a better quality of build with the bjcm. You can probably telephone and change your order. I got my bjcm from boots online on offer at £162 plus £25 worth of points for my card although i don't think this offer is still on. Do shop around and call websites for their best price. I think JL will price match so if you phone to change order it's handy to have a few quotes from other shops to hand. Good luck.

YAYYY!

just called mothercare and have been able to cancel my order rather than wait for it to arrive and return it etc

Now hunting for BJCM for any good offers, very excited and sure now... think for my DD who is just 7 months and quite a dainty little thing this seat will be much more comfy, thanks for comments

Ps use code jlk for 10% off orders over £120 and FB5X for 10% off all orders until 28 November. Mothercare will also price match see their website for details. Phone quick to cancel the Maclaren if that's your plan because i think they're despatched direct from Maclaren even when ordered from mothercare. If it's too late to cancel just take your buggy into your nearest mothercare store for an on the spot refund. Obviously only if unused so if you don't plan to keep it don't even open the box. As for the lady who claims to be able to push hers with one hand I'm sure that must only be on a smooth surface. The pavements where i live have a steep camber and are quite poor. So i prefer the bjcm. I could prob push a mac one handed in a shopping center but not on my local pavements!

you might want to get the bumper bar and if you do see the lovely bumpaloop or Santaloop bar covers on ebay. They're totally gorgeous and finish your buggy off nicely. The babyjogger snuggle bag is worth every penny as is waterproof and www.preciouslittleone.Com had the bag that clips to the side by a unique bar fitting is also worth every penny attach large velcro on clips to the handlebar for shopping bags. This bjcm is more stable than the Maclaren. Shops to try for price quotes on the bjcm would be the one mentioned above. Also winstanleys pram world. Baby world. Boots. Groovy style . Happy price hunting!

Scarlett175 · 11/11/2010 10:03

found it on babyworld for £199 including the free raincover! thats a good price isn't it? the raincover is 24.99 on John lewis website, just called them and they wouldn't pricematch so probably going to order from babyworld...

sounds like a good price. Did you try any of the other sites to see if they will give an even better quote? Although i am a bit of a bargain hunter! Free raincover sounds good.

maxybrown · 11/11/2010 11:36

Boots are usually good for baby jogger and find a code and get loads of points too!

onadietcokebreak · 11/11/2010 12:56

Second boots! Especially if ordering today as you will get about £40-50 of points back plus there is a 10% code somewhere on this board that I published.

thanks everyone, have ordered from babyworld (I have never got round to collecting boots points but thanks for all the suggestions) and it arrives tomorrow, very excited and relieved I could change mind at last minute... DH came home and rolled his eyes at me as I am notoriously bad at making timely decisions... oh well I am sure this is the right one...

have to add after navigating Bhm and the Bullring today, I love this pushchair. So easy to push and DD seems very comfy in. Very glad I stayed away from the maclaren... thanks ladies for all the advice.

Yay. Even today I found it had a storage latch so it's always surprising me. Looks good with carrycot too
