silvercrosss linear sleepover

I've started looking at travel systems for my first DC, not due til May so i'm just in the research phase. I really like the look of the silvercross sleepover on the linear chassis. Does anyone have experience of them? Is the chassis easy to fold and how big a boot does it need, thinking of attaching car seat to it for short shopping trips and mainly using pram for walks from home. The reason for all the questions is i'm also getting a new car, once i've sold my mx-5 and haven't decided yet between a yaris, auris, focus or ceed.

I had the freeway on linear chassis.

It's not small when folded so be careful. The wheels don't come off either so it does take up quite a bit of space. We didn't have any room left in the boot of a Golf r32 once the pram was in.

I loved it for a newborn but once ds1 was sitting up more it was just too big.

Agree with above poster. I had the Freeway too, the Sleepover is 'bouncier' though and I'd imagine nicer to push, more of a throwback to the Silver Cross of old.

Absolutely brilliant for my winter-born newborn, all snuggly, but we started using the lightweight Maclaren when she was 5 months.

Now that we're back to cold days, she sometimes goes in the Silver Cross for a walk as has more protection from the wind, but they are heavy to push as your child gets older, impossible one-handed and bulky when folded.

I don't regret buying it, but I would never have it as my main pram through all ages.

i had one for a few weeks,looked lovely,but very bullky when folded,the chassis is huge when folded,and when u put the seat unit in the boot too,its pretty huge!it took up more than half of my big vectra boot, i also felt it was quite rickety to push compared to my buzz (i like the air tyres)

We have a linear freeway, DD is nearly a year and we're still using it and nothing else. We also had the silver cross baby car seat that fitted onto the chassis, so we could still get the food shopping into the boot with the wheels, but add in the seat and there's not a lot of room for anything else. I have found ours very easy to push and steer, although not one-handed. I use it a lot over muddy, uneven paths, always keeps DD warm, safe and dry, and it stands up to a battering really well :) Very glad we bought ours.

We had the Sleepover Linear for dd2. I loved it as a lie flat pram. Really roomy. It is huge when folded though. I could barely fit the chassis and body in our very large boot.

I didn't like it as much in pushchair mode. Not comfy and the seat recline is odd.

DD2 is 2 now and I recently started using it again for walks so she could face me and the pushchair is better now that she is bigger but I don't rate the pushchair for a younger child.

I have had the linear sleepver and the classic (bouncy chassis) sleepover. I much preferred the classic, but it is heavy and yes it's big - but I like my big prams! I loved loved loved mine - but did prefer the classic like I said. I would def get one again if I was to have anothe DC (which I'm not but there you go lol)

I have the sleepover on the linear frame, it folds differently to the other silver cross models like the 3d and freeway. it fits fine in my kia c'eed, I dont use it because I had ds1 when dd2 was just 10months, that said I adore it as a carrycot and pretty much only use it at home now, because i need a double when out :)

I had a linear freeway with DS2 and its the best pram I've tried. He's now 2 but it still get used on long days out and plenty of space for DS1 (3) to sit in for a rest from time to time

cons: expensive, not small in the car

pros: great for new baby, comes with all accessories unlike others where you have to buy cosy toes/raincover/bag, really easy to push round town or on rough ground, easy to fold,

If and when we have DC3 I am going to get the classic frame as I fancy a change but am sticking firmly with silver cross

Another one here who had the linear sleepover.

Nothing much to add over what was said above other than the stand is great. We used to leave the frame down in the car (we lived in a poky wee flat)and carry ds indoors in the carrycot, which then clicked onto the stand next to our bed. So ds slept in the carrycot for pretty much the first 12 weeks of his life.

We still have it just in case dc2 decides to join us.

Reading all your comments has made my mind up that we shall get the linear sleepover. Thank you for all your comments.

Just need to sell my mx5 now and get a child friendly car.
