Hi there,

I'm pregnant with my first child. I'd love recommendations for transporting a newborn!

  • include car seat (we drive)
  • lightweight (live in top floor flat)

Plus the smaller it folds, the better.

I don't care about fashion, nor do I need 'off road' as we live in a city.

Feel free to recommend expensive products - we're going to make a 'wish list' then look out for them on eBay anyway.

Thanks so much - hopefully this gives me a starting point.

I cannot recommend highly enough the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix, although I think they have a newer model called the Pebble? which looks great too.

I have the Quinny Buzz 3 and I hate it.

It was fine with the pram part, but now in buggy mode it is so cumbersome and bulky and the front wheel sticks so you can't push it. It's also very heavy.

A few of my friends have the Bugaboo Chameleon and they like it. I wish I'd got that instead.

I've also heard good things about the iCandy - but not sure which model.

Sorry I forgot to add (as it's obvious to me but maybe not you), the Cabriofix/Pebble is a car seat and the others are travel systems.

Bugaboo bee plus, very functional, I love mine. :)

I have the Maclaren Techno XT. You can use it from birth to 23kgs so it'll see them right through. Its really light and not too chunky but doesn't feel flimsy. I'd really recommend it.
Maxi-Cosi carseats are good, I have one and know lots of people who do. Easy to strap in and out of the car.
And get a sling they're brilliant, especially if you live upstairs great for just nipping out.
