Lightweight, small stroller....which one?

Please can I have opinions on which one I should get:
Quinny Zapp
Petite Star Zia
Obaby Zoma
Zeta Lite
Hauck Malibu (though don't think this is as small?)

It is for dd2 who was one yesterday. Need it mainly for the school run, small so I can fold it and store inside, and also for the car so it doesn't take up the whole boot. I don't know what to do re the reclining seat....I think it would be a good idea as I hope she'll sleep in it..but does anyone have one that doesn't and find it ok?
I just want to know about day to day use really and build quality.....opinions please Smile thanks x

Out of those...zia. (check out reworked on nurseryvalue.com)

But I would get a baby jogger city mini. Compact and easy to steer one handed.

elk4baby · 07/10/2010 23:59

May I suggest the Baby Jogger City Mini (BJCM)?
It folds flat, literally in a second, one-handed (awesome, IMHO) - very useful when you have a young toddler trying to run away :). It's very well built, stable yet very light-weight. And it has the reclining seat Wink.
We've used our for travelling and for going places I knew our big 'home' pushchair wouldn't fit - found it trully excellent.
May be worth a look?
Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Thank you! Interesting you both suggest the same one...just had a quick look-it looks great....but looks a bit more than I was looking to spend really. Where is the best/cheapest place to buy one...and how much?
Are there any more suggestions of others to look at?

Ooo-just noticed that they make a micro-more the price I was thinking...has anyone used one of those? Any good?

i had the older version of this when dd was 6 months old. it was from a friend who had used it for over a year...dd is now nearly 7, and ds2 has since used it and he is 4 now!

really light, comfy, small, easy to push, carry, store etc... its not dated either...still looks current.

has a small recline. not ideal for a big sleep, but mine have both managed with no probs for a quick nap on the go...

honestly, its been ace. cant recommend it enough!

onadietcokebreak · 08/10/2010 12:45

Not kind of the micro to be honest. Hood isnt as big (with the mini I can get away with not using a raincover if caught out) and recline isnt as big.

If you havent brought already then try boots.com There is a 10% discount code AFPE22 Which makes it about £162 plus you get £25 of points back! You need to be a member of the parenting club and signed in to get this though (you can join online)

I have been through so many strollers and finally brought this one that I have wanted for about 2 yrs. I love it.

onadietcokebreak · 08/10/2010 12:46

Kind means keen...sorry I am sleep deprived!

elk4baby · 09/10/2010 23:56

If it doesn't have to be brand new, try eBay... they do come up from time to time and you can get a real bargain.

elk4baby · 10/10/2010 00:00

...and if you want a brand new one, try here - google shopping says 165GBP

WillYouDoTheDamnFanjo · 10/10/2010 00:00

We've got a Zapp, it was quickly delivered by Kiddicare and in the January sales.

It does tip over if you hang anything heavy on the handles, but DS has never had trouble nodding off in it despite the non-reclining seat. Very light and leaves lots of room in the boot when folded. We have put it through all sorts of terrains this year and it's fared well.

KarenHughes · 11/10/2010 09:59

I Have a Zia and a Zia4 (travel system)
Couldn't be happier with both, The seat has a full recline, a good sized hood, a shopping basket and then all the standard stuff you get with the others. Its also the cheapest I think?!?! and comes in a fair old range of colours.
So yeah that one gets a thumbs up from me!

sammysam · 13/10/2010 09:49

Thank you everyone.....quick update-went for a Zia+ in the end-from another thread found that nursey value had 'reworked' ones-it was such a bargin that I couldn't really justify paying 3 times as much for the BJCM (though I would have liked to!)
It came yesterday though not sure if they have sent the right colour-it was supposed to be cranberry but looks very pink!!!
Can't see what the problem is with it-can't find any faults....only other issue is that it came without a raincover-is that normal? Might email them to find out.....

If you end up returning it - just a thought, did you see the BJCM (baby jogger city mini) on offer at boots - with the 10% discount code (on the pushchairs board here) you could get one for £161.99 - and if you're a member of the boots parenting club another £25 worth of points too! Wink
