BJCM Bumper Bar / Play Tray

I am just about to buy a BJCM (Precious Little One.com, £169.99 - bargain Grin)

Just wanted to ask - can you fold them with a bumper bar or play tray in place? Are these things even necessary? As they are extra, don't want to buy it if it will end up unused, or if it needs taking off every time.

Thanks :)

I've got the bumper bar for my BJCM. Yes you can fold it with the bar on (no problem). Is it necessary? Well no, not really. I like it though as bumper bar is adjustable so you can have it at the right height for your child.

If you havent brought already then try boots.com

There is a 10% discount code SHPE48 Which makes it about £162 plus you get £25 of points back!

Flossie69 · 08/10/2010 09:51

dietcoke that promo code doesn't work, and it comes up as getting £15 worth of points back!

But my other, BIGGER problem is - which colour to get!!! Black, red & grey, the one with red and cream, but that may show the dirt, can't decide!!

You need to be signed in and a member of the parenting club. That code isnt working at the mo....will try and find you another one. Also have one for £10 extra in points if I cant find a 10% off.

onadietcokebreak · 08/10/2010 12:33

I have the black one....i thought the others would show the dirt up!

onadietcokebreak · 08/10/2010 12:41

Phew that was hard work...

AFPE22 for 10% off......

Flossie69 · 08/10/2010 15:07

Thank-you - will try that again, once I have joined the parenting club.

I am beginning to come round to the idea of the black one - I think it will have better resale value also, and will look great with a brioght pink buggy snuggle :)

i have the play tray and the bumper bar. Both have their merrits. The pram is easier to fold with the bar in place then the tray. It can fold with either but careful you don't wack your wrist on the tray as it folds! You can adjust the bar up or down so you won't catch your wrist and it then becomes a neat carry handle which you can lift the buggy with. The tray is fab for drinks, snacks or crayons and paper, cars or bricks. A good place for your toddler to put their half eaten toast rather than shoving it down their side and grinding into the seat! The bar is great to attach toys to and for your baby to hold onto when being nosy. Also you can hold the snuggle bag open resting the top flap over the bar when putting your child in and out. The baby jogger own foot muff though dull is brilliant. It's rain proof so with the large hood up you'll not need a raincover.

the red/cream does not show up dirt by the way, just so you know Smile

Flossie69 · 11/10/2010 18:56

Just reporting back - have ordered my BJCM today! Went to Boots.com, and got all my discounts and extra points - thanks onadietcokebreak Grin

And decided on the black/red/cream - the all black just looked too dreary. I should get it by Thursday. Can't wait!

It is nice flossie, looks quite classy in RL Smile

onadietcokebreak · 12/10/2010 20:28

Yay! Another BJCM convert!

And lots of boots points!

Flossie69 · 13/10/2010 19:11

Well it arrived today, and yes, it does look very smart. I have put it all together, adjusted the straps, and put my DD in it. She showed her approval by smiling and kicking her legs, so that's good Wink

One query though, the safety straps which attach the seat to the frame Confused
You can't fold the pushchair with these snapped onto the frame, and the instructions say you have to have these on when using the pushchair. So why were they not mentioned before, when Mrs Mothercare & Ms John Lewis were demonstrating the BJCM to me? Are these a new feature. Was there a problem which led to these? They are mentioned several times in the instructions, with WARNING, and a exclamation mark in a triangle.

I guess its not much of a problem to put them on, and then unsnap them before folding, but I am just perplexed that they weren't mentioned before.

Oh, and my lovely changing doesn't fit in the basket Sad Oh well......

I hadn't known about those before hand either I must admit, but have had two city mini's and the elite - didn't always use them tbh, just have to cover themselves so child can't just pull the handle I guess! That's all they do. - the seat is still attached to the frame!

onadietcokebreak · 13/10/2010 20:40

I dont use mine either........

MonkeysPunk · 14/10/2010 16:48

i don't use mine either. I figure it's impossible for my toddler to fold the buggy while sitting in it anyway. Never had a problem. I think it's to do with safety stand demanding fold systems to be twoards stage. So they added the fold lock snappers so it will comply. I do think they're unnecessary given the nature of the brilliant baby jogger fold system.
