Do I really need a footmuff....

....or will a jolly sensible winter coat do? DS is nearly a year.

Yes, I know it depends on how long he's sitting in the pushchair - not normally long, really.

Just wondered what other people did

I liked DD2 to have a footmuff as she had no choice but to be out in the cold and in front of me, so I wanted her to be as comfy and cosy as possible. (DD1 always always had a woolly blanket anyway... she still has one at 9, sigh!)

I used one. Children in prams aren't walking and exercising and so can get cold if the weather is very cold. When little boys sit down, their trousers can ride up so their legs and feet can get cold. They also help if your DS takes off his shoes.

As I said, I used one, but we would have been out in the buggy a lot.

One came with the buggy so I did use it - blankets can come adrift and get muddy on the wheels. I think DD is a bit tall for it this year (not quite 2 yrs). I don't have a car so lots of buggy time.

I think they are essential tbh

Yeah, I think you do. Go and sit on a bench for 10 mins when it's really cold and then re-evaluate :)

Buggy snuggle ones are brilliant, I got one on ebay for about £20 and DS was toasty warm. They're long too so should last you next winter too.

Jareth - do buggy snuggles fit most buggies? I have a Quinny Buzz and a Maclaren techno xt

Yep, we had a Buzz and it was really good (tied it to the frame at the back of the seat). We use a M&P ziko now which is similar to a McL I think, we had to tie the chord across the back of the seat IYSWIM but it's fine.

Jareth, are you still there? Just wondered - can you fold your M&P with the snuggle attached?

Yep. It makes it a bit more bulky, but as long as it's neatly zipped up it's absolutely fine :)
