If you could have any pushchair at all that would last from birth to toddler and the cost was not an issue (lovely idea!), which would you go for and why?

Cost is an issue for me but as this is my first baby I am more interested in quality and something that will last. I'd be interested to see what people think is the best out there on the market. If necessary I could then look to get a second hand version.

If you're planning just one child, I'd whole-heartedly recommend the Mutsy 4Rider Light.

I absolutely love mine (18months on) and it can fit a much larger child (my DS still has loads and loads of room, both in height and width, even with warmer clothing on).

It handles extremely well, even on sand and snow (larger wheels really help) and is very maneuverable (can turn on the spot), yet it's sturdy & stable and won't tip over if you hang a lot of weight on the handle.

I had a mutsy and it was great.

If money were no object though, I'd have a Stokke Xplory. I wish I'd bought a 2nd hand one when DS3 was smaller.

my teutonia spirit s3. i still use it daily after nearly two and a half years and it is still really easy to push. had a fashion carrycot for when ds was a baby and now still have the seat unit rf.

the seat unit is long and lies flat and it also comes with a 3 year warranty.

I've got an xplory and love it so much i've recently upgraded the seat unit to a 2010 model which is much better, just haven't told dh how much it cost! The only down side is that it fills up the car boot and is quite heavy to lift in and out.

Absolutely love the xplory, but for around £600.... you must be joking!

As a cheaper alternative I went for the Kurvi, it has all the same functions but for 1/2 the price. Its not quite as good looking but like I say because money is an issue with me thats the one i have. - All i need is to win the Euro Millions and the xplory is mine! hehe :)

I actually preferred Kurvi to Xplory (apart from tiny basket!) Much easier to push.

For a soley urban environment - the Bugaboo Bee+
As a hybrid - the Micralite superlite with carrycot from birth - because it's light and easily manouverable.
For a large luxury stroller - the Mutsy 4rider light is hard to top. It is very stable - my 2y old has climbed up his many a time and it's never tipped over - plus with the extra large shopping basket you can carry a lot of extra stuff around. Such high quality on the Mutsy range.

Actually, horsemadgal is right. There is no perfect buggy which is why i have accumulated a bit of a buggy museum! For uneven surfaces the xplory is horrible so i have an out and about 3 wheeler for dog walking. I also have a maclaren quest for plane journeys and a volo for when ds1 was older and didn't need to sleep in it. I had a mamas and papas pliko with ds1 but much prefer the xplory.

Bugaboo Cameleon. I love love love it.

Bought a Pliko Pramette originally and it was absolutely terrible - really cheap feeling, flimsy, wheels were rubbish etc.

After 6wks bit the bullet, sold the Pliko and got a Cameleon, wished I had from the start and think every pound was well spent.

We bought a Bee+ when DD was 15m as we were going abroad for several weeks and using the pram a lot; I am too tall for a Maclaren or other stroller, tested everything but kept kicking the wheels.

Love love love the Bee too; think if I had to choose one over the other it would be the Cameleon as I love the carrycot for up to 6 months. DD used to sleep in it instead of travel cot when we went away when she was wee,

So easy to use, great to push, stylish, practical. Initially expensive but I think excellent value for money overall.

Also I got brilliant service from Bugaboo - I chucked out the Bee adaptor for the parasol when I bought the Cameleon. Then bought the Bee a year later and didn't want to have to puy a whole new parasol. Couldn't get an adaptor anywhere, contacted someone at Bugaboo head office (in Holland i think) and they sent me a new set of adaptors free, delivery within a couple of days. V impressed.

Really recommend Bugaboo.
